You Are Awesome Layout | Brianna Lepper
Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today sharing a bright and happy boy layout using the Happy Heart collection as well as the Lush Peonies Stamp, Stencil and Die set. I have two boys and I scrapbook them a lot, so my love for florals always tends to shine through on their layouts... and they don't mind one bit! Even if it's a layout about them, there will always be a little touch of my style as well. Best of both worlds! Here's my page:
I wanted to create a nice color palette of pretty oranges and yellows so I stamped the Lush Peonies Stamp out using the Warm Buff ink pad. The color is light enough for me to see the details of the stamp but it's also really soft and I love how it looks.
I stamped the image twice and then started to ink blend with my ink cubes and the layered Stencil set. While ink blending, I made sure to pay attention to the parts of the florals and leaves that I was working on. I added more pressure when working on the centers and went lighter while working out towards the edges. It gave them all some interest with the shading and I love how they turned out. Then, using the coordinating Die set, I die cut the two pieces out and then fussy cut them to make four different floral pieces. This really stretched each stamped image to create more pieces to embellish with.
For the base of my layout, I used a piece of textured white cardstock. To add more pops of yellow and to bring in the yellow from my floral pieces, I cut a diagonal piece from the Sunny & Bright 12x12 patterned paper and adhered it right in the middle of the page. I then popped up each of the florals up on foam tape and layered them together.
For my title, I die cut the phrase "You Are Awesome" from the Phrase Builder You Are set. I die cut the words out of white cardstock and the outline pieces using both vellum and light blue cardstock.
Next, I matted my photo with a scrap of paper from the collection and embellished using a few Ephemera pieces.
As a finishing touch, I sprinkled in a few Enamel Dots and that completed my page. The stenciled florals are so beautiful and I really didn't want to take too much away from them, so I kept the embellishing to a minimum and I'm so glad that I did. They really pop off the page and the colors make me so happy!
