Center of attention | Else Huinink
Hi friends! Thank you for stopping by the Pinkfresh Studio blog. I've made two layouts with the Super Cool and Noteworthy collections. Both of them have the picture in the center of the layout with layers behind it. Let's take a look!
Play - Super Cool
I started this layout with fussycutting some words from the paper 'Highlight'. My intention was to layer all those words behind my picture. However, the white from the words and my white background were two different shades of white, so I started to add other pieces and cut-aparts from the papers 'Choir' and 'Current mood'. The yellow plaid paper is from the Noteworthy collection, called 'Happy thoughts'. With the layering, I always try to let some accent colors come back on different parts of the layout, like the bright yellow and green.
After I was happy with the layers behind the picture I started to add little bits and pieces, like the cardstock stickers, puffy stickers and also two acetate speechbubbles. The text on the speechbubbles didn't fit this layout, but this way I could add that fun extra texture.
For some extra pops of color I used the enamel dots in different colors on three places on the layout, so your eye will go across the whole page.
Busy boy - Noteworthy
When I first looked through the Noteworthy collection, I didn't think it would be a perfect collection to scrap babypictures with. But when I saw the blue grid paper 'Right now' it was a perfect match with this picture of my son when he was just a few days old (seems such a long time ago). I had this picture in a frame in my livingroom, so it was a larger picture than I normally scrap with. That's why I trimmed it a little smaller and placed it in the middle of the layout again.
I also started with building up layers behind the picture. I always try to add different textures, to add interest. I used a part of the 'Lovely moments' paper and a cut-apart from the 'Right now' paper. I used two puffy frames and a tag from the journaling bits.
The puffy stickers and mixed embellishments are a perfect touch for some sweet accents. I love that little sun puffy sticker, so cute! For the title I chose similar looking puffy alpha stickers, in the blue/dark blue combination.
In the end I decided to put the blue grid paper as a border on the left en upper side of the layout, and splatter some gold spray on different parts of the layout, to repeat the gold accents in the tag and twine.
I hope you enjoyed this post and it will inspire you to try a centered layout. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have a great day!
