Anemone Magic: Stencils and Stripes

Anemone Magic: Stencils and Stripes

18 Aug 2021 1 comment

Hi friends! Angela here today, with a card to share that features one of the gorgeous layering stencils from in the most recent Pinkfresh Studio release. I'm not usually the type to do a bunch of coloring, but these layering stencils make it SO easy to apply whatever colors your heart desires to the stamp sets that they coordinate with. Count me in!

Anemone Magic Stencil

For today's card, I've used the Anemone Magic stamp set and layering stencil, along with Pinkfresh inks in Candy Violet, Lemon Whip and Emerald City. To begin, I used Detail Black ink to stamp one of the images from the Anemone Magic stamp set, covering a white cardstock panel that I later trimmed down to fit my A2 card base.

After the stamping was done, I used the layering stencil to fill in the color with my ink blending brushes. I'm a "color inside the lines" type of creative personality (anyone else?), and doing the stamping first makes the stencil work foolproof - you can see exactly where those lines are! I didn't end up using all the stencils because I was going for a more simple look, but know that this set comes with 6 pieces which can be used to add more visual depth and detail.

Once my background panel was complete, I picked out some cardstock from my stash in colors that coordinated very closely with the ink selections. The Slim Stripes die set helped me to quickly cut out some perfect 1/4" strips, and I adhered those horizontally across my card panel with foam tape. For the sentiment, I embossed a nice bold 'Hello' from the Perfect Sentiments stamp set in white, cut it out with the coordinating die, and adhered it to the stripes. To finish, I added a few little metallic silver pearls around the sentiment with a few dots of liquid glue. I love these little pearls, and am really excited to incorporate them into my holiday crafting too!

If you haven't yet given layering stencils a try, I hope this card has inspired you to do so. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll enjoy some crafty time this week!
