Stamping & Embossing on Layouts | Kathleen Graumüller

Stamping & Embossing on Layouts | Kathleen Graumüller

Hey there :) It’s Kathleen here again and today I have two layouts with you that feature some stamping and (one of them) embossing. I really have to admit, when I found out this month’s blogpost should focus on stamping on layouts, I was a bit stumped.. Not because I don’t usually stamp on my layouts, but normally it’s something like stamping a date or a short phrase or something like that. But making a layout that would focus on it? This really threw me off for a second ;)

So both of the layouts I share today are a little bit out of my comfort zone. And while I am very happy with the first one, I’m still not sure about the second.. but anyway, without further ado, here they are:

Love You Layout by ScatteredConfetti // #scrapbooking #pinkfreshstudio

For both layouts I used the beautiful „Escape the Ordinary“ collection and for the first one also the stamp set from that line. When rummaging through my photos and looking for the right one to use, I came across this one of my fiancé and our dog snuggling and I knew it would be absolutely perfect. The „I love you to the moon“ sentiment from the stamp set also inspired the title :)

I filled about half of the page with this gorgeous dark blue patterned paper ("Dare") and layered a strip of the Tough paper from the „Boys Fort“ line behind. Above the papers I stamped the mountains from the Escape the Ordinary stamp set in gray and then layered my title and photo/embellishment cluster on it. I also continued the stamped mountains with the same image from the chipboard sticker set.

I then filled the white space above using the cloud stamps from the same stamp set and embossing them with pearl white embossing powder (I used an embossing pen to fill the insides of some of the clouds with embossing powder as well) and the star cluster stamp with gold embossing powder. To finish off my sky scene, I also added some stars from the ephemera package and the puffy stickers, as well as that cute little moon chipboard sticker.

When I started working on this layout I really didn’t know where I was going with it. I only knew I wanted to use that stamp set. But I am quite happy with how it turned out. What do you think?

Now as I said, I’m not 100% sure about my second layout, but see for yourself ;)

Wisdom by ScatteredConfetti // #scrapbooking #pinkfreshstudio #escapetheordinary

I started my layout with layering the two paper strips at the top of my page and adding the stamped & die cut succulent terrariums (I absolutely love the Simply Succulent stamp set!!). For my terrariums I used gold foil paper to give it the look of those metallic ones.

Then I added my photo that I had layered on lots of little paper scraps that I had left from my Escape the Ordinary papers. The little die cuts sticking out on the right side and the chipboard sticker that I’m using to look like a paperclip holding my photo down add a little splash of colour to it.

Instead of a big title, I used the „Grow through what you go through“ phrase sticker from the Escape the Ordinary phrase sticker set - I just felt like it fit my photo and page very well. You can’t really see it, but in my photo there is a poster that I have on a sideboard in our living room and it says „Some things take time“.

Originally I wanted to keep the rest of my layout white, but then it just felt really empty. So I began stamping that little twig stamp from the Unicorn Dreams stamp set in gray over and over. I think it looks a little bit like wallpaper with the terrariums hanging down from the ceiling - but maybe only I can see that, haha :D

Well, I hope you feel inspired to step out of your comfort zone as well and add some stamping to your layouts - or maybe for you it’s really easy and totally in your comfort zone? Then please share your tips and tricks with me! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Kathleen
