Use Stamps To Create Custom Embellishments For Your Layouts | Elsie Robinson

Hey Pinkfresh fans, it’s Elsie here with two new projects to share with you today using one of my all-time favourite crafty items: stamps!

I love to stamp on my scrapbook pages especially it’s so easy to create your own custom embellishments. One of my favourite things about this technique is that you can use any stamp with any collection and it can match! This technique is super customisable and really helps stretch your stash!

Let me talk you through how I used stamping on these two pages. First off, I created this 12x12 page.

My starting point was using this adorable unicorn stamp from the Unicorn Dreams set. I stamped the image with some waterproof black ink onto some plain white cardstock. I debated whether or not to use watercolour paper, but I decided against it as I wanted the uncoloured parts of the unicorn to be white to match my background.

Because I didn’t use watercolour paper I knew I would have to keep my painting simple, and I simply used a mint green watercolour paint which matches the mint green colour from the Escape The Ordinary collection. The unicorn is such a beautiful stamp it really doesn’t need much adding to it to make a big impact on your pages!

I also did some embossing on this page with gold embossing powder to match the gold foiling on some of the ephemera pieces. I used this technique to create my ‘sky’ background using the cloud and star stamps from the Escape The Ordinary stamp set. I love the shine and sparkle this adds to my page!

For my second project I decided to create a Traveler’s Notebook page. I used this cut file from The Cut Shoppe because I loved that the open frames meant I could easily use many photos and papers/embellishments in a way that would make sense and wouldn’t seem too chaotic!

For my stamping on this page I used the Forest Friends set. These critters are all kinds of adorable and I just had to include them on a page. I followed the same technique as I did with the unicorn and did some very simple watercolouring with some earthy toned colours.

On this page I’m documenting some photos of me being really goofy whilst out on a walk in the countryside. Once the stamped critters were dry and fussy-cut, I glued them onto different frames.

I love how cute and whimsical these images are, but I especially love how the bears look on this page. Another reason why I wanted to use this cut file was so the bears would look like they are peeking out from behind the frame. If you don’t have the co-ordinating die-set this is a really easy way and effective way to use these stamps. I know it’s something I’ll be replicating again and again on my pages as well as on cards and even envelopes!

Thanks for stopping by today everyone! I’ll see you for more projects next month.
