Mixed Media Scrapbooking with Days of Splendor
Hi Everyone!! Welcome back to the Pink Fresh Studio blog. Today I am excited to share with you my first layout using the beautiful new release collection called 'Days of Splendor'. This beautiful fall collection is like a cuddle with its stunning warm colors and gorgeous coordinating embellishments.
In this layout I incorporated my love of mixed media scrapbooking with this collection. I used some of the Pink Fresh Studio ink cubes in the colors Ocean Breeze, Olive, Storm and Candy Violet to make a dream effect and with the help of some fussy cutting tried to make it feel as though my daughter was fast asleep, with her puppy enjoying dreamland.
To help transition from the patterned paper to the mix media section I have used some fussy cut elements and one of the new cut files. This cut file is called Greenery Top and Bottom. It is really versatile and looks great tucked under the edge of the torn section with the fussy cut florals peaking out.
When I am creating bust mixed media layouts I am always nervous about losing the photo. The way I overcome that is through mounting my photo on multiple layers of coordinating cardstock, and ruffing up the edges to give a distressed look.
