Let's Stay Home layouts | Vicki Parker
Hi everyone, this is Vicki to share my very first layouts for Pinkfresh Studio as part of the new design team and I am using the recent and fabulous Let's Stay Home collection.
I started by putting clear gesso on most of the white cardstock because I planned to use ink and water. Using the mini-ink pads, I smeared Sky Blue, Mint and Peach Fuzz down the page vertically and then sprayed some water across the page to allow the ink to smooth out. Once it was dry I started to build the layout in sections.
I cut two squares of blue, green and peach from the Better Things are Ahead paper and used some embroidery thread to hand-sew around each of the squares to add some extra texture to the layout.
I mounted my photos on some tissue paper in my stash to give some extra depth and then mounted them on foam. I took some diecuts, puffy stickers, cardstock stickers and chipboard flair and embellished tone on tone.
I finished with the tiny alphabet for my title on top of the peach section.
My second layout is quite different, showing just how versatile this kit is.
I started by cutting all the rows of houses from the Around Our Hood paper and arranging them on the bottom of the layout by just sticking along the bottom so that I could add texture to the page.
I then cut the rainbow strips from the Hope for New Day paper and stuck them onto foam so that they gave the appearance of coming out of the houses.
I added some mixed media where my photos were going to go using the Blue Jay Ink. I just watered it down and little and used it like watercolour.
I layered my photo using some of the journalling cards on the Hold On paper and then layered the whole layout up with some die cuts, puffy stickers, cardstock stickers, chipboard flair and one of the journaling bits.
Finally, I used the Adore Alpha die set to cut my title. I hope these layouts inspire you in some way to use the Let's Stay Home collection - please do share them on our facebook group. Thanks for looking, Vicki x
