Background Inking with Days of Splendor | Vicki Parker
Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today to share my latest layout using the wonderful Days of Splendor collection - it may be my favourite Pinkfresh collection so far, but I do say that every time there is a new one! You can purchase this collection now in your favourite online retail store now.
I started by using the Pop Out Nested Chevron stamp which is fabulous on scrapbook pages. I used three colours of the ink cubes - Ocean Breeze, Doe and Passion Fruit - all of which are perfect with the Days of Splendor collection. I coated one of the pop out pieces of the stamp with ink and then spritzed it with water before stamping from the left to around two thirds of the way across the page, then flipped the stamp and stamped from the right to meet the point. This gave a more watercolour look rather than a really sharp image, which is the effect I wanted.
My photos are of my dog and me and are the perfect colours for the three stamp colours I chose - I couldn't believe how great they looked with this collection. I layered one with a paper from the 6x6 paper pad and the other with one of the stitched element frames.
I then started to embellish with the journalling bits, ephemera, floral ephemera, puffy stickers, enamel dots and I cut the 'there's no place like home' sentiment from the Moments that Matter paper.
