Happy Tuesday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you an inspiration card with a “Waterfall & Rainbow” look made with using: Rainbow Floral Washi and Rainbow Floral Washi Die to create the rainbow floral touch. Also, Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Squares Die Set and Intricate Stitched Ovals Cover Plate Die to add the detailed stitching details to the front card panel and frames. Plus, a combination of some sentiments from the following stamp sets; Just Because Stamp Set, Floral Envelope Stamp Set and Infinite Blooms Stamp Set and, last but certainly not least, Jewels: Ballet Slipper to add a pop of sparkle to the card. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I started off by getting the die-cutting process done for the diagonal stitched frames so, to do that. I used the medium size dies included in Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Squares Die Set along with the die cut machine to cut out five stitched frames and five solid squares from white cardstock. Next, once I had the die-cutting process for all frames from the white cardstock, I went ahead to put them off aside to continuing with the die-cutting for the rainbow floral clusters.

Thus, to do that, I went ahead to use a piece of white cardstock to get the Rainbow Floral Washi design adhered to it and then, I used the coordinating Rainbow Floral Washi Die along with the die cut machine to cut the images out from the white cardstock. That being said, as soon as, I had finished cutting all floral clusters, I went ahead to get the assembling for the square frames started. So, to do that, I went ahead to get the die-cutting solid frames over the stitched frames and then, I got selected five of the small floral clusters in a rainbow order to get them glue down on each frame. But before getting them gluing down over the frames, I went ahead to select some of the encouragement card sentiments from the following stamp sets: Just Because Stamp Set, Floral Envelope Stamp Set and Infinite Blooms Stamp Set. Thus, after getting them selected, I proceeded to get them stamped over the frames using Detail Black Ink in a way which you will see as, you keep reading down the post.

Moving on, after getting the stamping done and getting each floral cluster adhered to the frames, I went ahead to put them off aside to create the element for the waterfall effect from a piece of white cardstock. So, to do that, I trim down a piece of white cardstock to W 11.0” x H 1-1/2” inches. Next, I placed it down over my score board tool with the longer side to the right to get a scoring line marked at 6.0” inches. Then, after marking the 6 inches, I proceeded to keep marking another five scoring lines at 6-1/2, 7.0, 7-1/2, 8.0 and 8-1/2 inches. Lastly, I used the side of my Teflon bone folder to fold over each scoring line making sure to do it in the same direction to end up with the longer part of the cardstock underneath the shorter scored part.

That being said, for the bottom part, I went ahead to get the corners rounded and then, I got the waterfall effect assembling started so, to keep it simple, I started in a backward order by getting glue down the last frame first over the 8.0 inches score line but leaving about 1/16 of the inch from the fold to make it easier when pulling the waterfall effect.

Next, I went ahead to glue down the next frame to the following scoring line as, you can see in the image above.

So, on and so forth, I continued gluing down the next frame by the way, you can see in each image how I got stamped each sentiment. Also, you can see that I added dimension to some of the floral clusters.

By the way, I did not mention the colored cardstock pieces that are adhered to the back side of each frame earlier because, I decided to add this step until, I realized that I wanted to add a little contrast instead of having their backing in plain white. So, if happens that you want to recreate this card make sure to use the same die that I used to cut out the solid square to cut the squares from patterned paper or colored cardstock first to avoid the extra measuring and cutting step.

Lastly, in the image above you can see how the waterfall effect looks like after getting glue down the last frame, which in this case is the first one since, I got them glue down in a backward way to make it easier as, I mentioned earlier.

As for the card base, I used an A7 size white card base. Next, I got trim down a gold panel 1/4 inch smaller than the card base and then, I got it adhered to the card base. Lastly, I added the stitching detail to a large piece of white cardstock using the Intricate Stitched Ovals Cover Plate Die by the way, to add the stitching detail to the large card panel, I went ahead to run through the die once and then, I repeated the same step for the other side for a continuous look. That said, I got the detailed panel trim down and then I got its backing adhered to the card base. Finally, to get the waterfall effect element adhered to the card, I went ahead to trim down a piece of white cardstock to W 1.0 x H 2-3/4 inches. So, to get it glue down, I went ahead to place the frames facing down and then I got mark off the same 1.0-inch width from the small cardstock piece. Once, I had that marked, I added glue not passing the marking line and then, I got the piece gluing down edge to edge to the shorter side of the element but making sure to get it line up with the last square frame as well. Then, I added a piece of strong adhesive to the right and left edge from the cardstock piece making sure to have the center of it free of adhesive. Then, I got the backing of the adhesive peeled off and I got the element flip over to get the get it adhered to the card. So, to get it adhered, I lined up over the center of the card and then, I pressed it down until I was sure the was completed adhered.

To let the recipient knows that it’s an interactive card, I added a PULL HERE sentiment to the bottom part of rounded cardstock piece using one of the sentiments from my stash and then, to add an extra touch, I added a brad with a butterfly shape as well.

I would like to mention that this waterfall effect will fit on an A2 size card base as well; so, if you prefer an A2 size instead of an A7 size all you need to do is trim down 1/2 on an inch from the end to make it shorter. However, in this case, I decided to get it mounted on an A7 size card base because, I wanted to have a more detailed look with extra white space.

Here’s is an upper view for how the card looks like, as you can see, the adhering part is hidden and all you can see are the square frames. Although, I went for a landscaping design this effect looks good on a portrait design, too!

Finally, as a finishing touch, I got glued down some Jewels: Ballet Slipper to the first frame just to add the right amount of sparkle to the card.
