Hi Pinkfresh friends! Hope you’re having a great week so far! It's TaeEun here today ! Have you hopped along at the November Essentials Release Blog Hop and Instagram Hop? Which Essentials die set is your favorite? For me it’s very hard to pick only one :) !

Today I want to show you a pair of spotlight cards featuring one of my favorite items from this release, Mini slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die set and Darling Dahlias cling stamp from the previous release.

For the first card I used the Darling Dahlias layering stencil set to color the spotlighted part of the image.

To start I stamped the Darling Dahlias once on a kraft cardstock in Peach Fuzz and again on a white cardstock in Detail Black ink. I then stenciled the image on the white panel using the layering stencil set. I stenciled the first layer of the flowers in Ballet Slipper. I added a bit more color to the first layer, to some of the flowers using Coral Reef and for some of them using Apricot. For the second layer of the flowers I used again Coral Reef and Apricot. The leaves were stenciled in Ocean Breeze and Aquamarine. For the background I used Misty Coast and Soft Lilac. Once done with stenciling I splattered white opaque ink on the panel and let it dry. After the panel was dry I adhered it flat on a white cardbase.

I cut two windows from the kraft panel diagonally using the Mini Slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die and foam mounted the negative piece on the card. Next I gold heat embossed the scalloped frame and added it to the card using two layers of foam tape.

The sentiment “hello” was cut three times from white and once from black cardstock using the die from the Scripted Greetings die set and stacked them together. The shadow layer was cut from some kraft cardstock. The long sentiment is from Charming Floral Border set which I stamped in Detail Black on a strip of kraft cardstock. To finish off I scattered a few Matte Metallic Gold Pearls.

The spotlighted part of the second card was watercolored in red and green for a festive look of a holiday card !

I white heat embossed the Darling Dahlias image on a watercolor paper panel. I cut the panel using the largest die from the Blanket Stitched Rectangles die set and cut the middle part of it using the Mini Slimline Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die.

I watercolored the center piece in traditional holiday colors and let it dry. The negative piece was also watercolored using the same red watercolor but only very lightly. I then dabbed the watercolor off from the background part of the negative panel using paper towel.

The watercolored center piece and the negative piece were adhered flat on a white cardbase and the white frame was added to them using foam tape. I watercolored a scrap watercolor paper in red and cut a bow from it using Artistic Bows die set. I added the red bow and the golden sentiment which was hot foiled in gold using Perfect Sentiments Holiday Hot Foil Plate. I finished off the card with three Matte Metallic gold Pearls.

That’s it from me for today. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed looking my cards!

Wishing you a blessed Thanksgiving holiday!!!

TaeEun
