Sentiment Shaker | Jenny Colacicco

Hi Everyone!

I can feel spring just peeping around the corner can't you?  The sun has been shining much more recently where I live, the icicles have been melting and I feel a little like I'm gradually unfurling like an early spring flower.   That's exactly the vibe I'm going for with today's card.

The Reset stamp set has such an amazing sentiment, perfect for the new year ahead.  The Design Team have already used this set in so many great ways - and I decided to do something a little different and make it into a shaker card.

I started by first creating my front panel.  As I planned to stamp my words in bright jewel tones, I went for a neutral gray for the front panel.  I used Rocky Slope and stamped the florals from the stamp set all over a panel of white cardstock. I then used the Reset coordinating die and die cut it from the panel, saving all of the pieces that came out in the die itself.

To create my shaker window, I adhered clear acetate behind the die cut window. I then added a dot of glue to all of the pieces left in the die and placed them over the acetate window and popped them out.  To be sure you get them perfectly lined up, you can add the actual sentiment die cut into the window (without glue), then pop out the pieces, let them adhere in place, then lift up the sentiment die cut! I flipped the window round and created a foam tape 'well' to hold my shaker pieces.

I die cut the sentiment again from white cardstock and then stamped the sentiments from the set using jewel tones in Mermaid Cove, Candy Violet, Bubblegum, and Seaside. I adhered them to a white panel of cardstock and then sprinkled a little pile of Essentials: Crystals Mix in similar colors to the inks. I then placed the window panel over the top, lining up the stamped sentiments with the window outline.

To finish, I heat embossed the subsentiment in the set in white embossing powder on black cardstock, and die cut it with coordinating banner die. I mounted it with a double layer of foam tape to create a slight curve.

I do love this sentiment set - really positive, and uplifting, something we could all use! Stay safe and have a great day.

Jenny x

All my favourite colours!! I’d never thought to use this sentiment as a shaker, but it looks great, I have to try this now!
