Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far! It’s TaeEun here today with a floral card featuring the Fragrance Notes product suite and the fun emboss resist technique.

I was inspired by this month’s challenge theme, Ombré Obsession. For my card, I created a full background pattern using the floral image from the Fragrance Notes stamp set, which I clear heat embossed. I then ink blended over it in a soft ombré gradient following the challenge color palette.

Here is how I made the card.

1. Heat emboss the floral image from the Fragrance Notes stamp set using clear embossing powder.
2. Repeat the clear heat embossing across all four sections of a white A2 panel to create a DIY all-over background pattern.
3. Die cut the panel using two dies from the Nested Rectangles: Postage Edge die set to create a wide frame.
4. Ink blend the frame in an ombré gradient using Lemon Whip, Apricot, Peony and Raspberry Bliss from top to bottom, keeping the top edge uncolored.
5. Adhere the center rectangle panel flat onto a white cardbase and foam mount the frame onto its place.
6. Stamp the same floral image in an ombré style using Apricot, Peony and Raspberry Bliss by partially inking the stamp and stamping repeatedly in different colors.
7. Color only the petals using the coordinating Fragrance Notes stencil set, matching the stamped ombré tones.
8. Die cut the flowers using the coordinating die.
9. Hot foil the floral image using the Fragrance Notes Press Plate in Rose Gold.
10. Use the negative foil with the Solid Hot Foil Plate to create the foiled floral images, then die cut them.
11. Stamp the sentiment from the Fragrance Notes stamp set in Detail Black and die cut with the coordinating die.
12. Die cut the same sentiment from rose gold cardstock and layer it slightly offset behind the stamped sentiment.
13. Arrange the stenciled floral images around the corners of the central panel and add the rose gold foiled florals as shiny accents.
14. Adhere the sentiment using foam tape for dimension.
15. Finish the card with a few Pixie Dust Ombré Glitter Drops.

The emboss resist technique is a such a fun way to create a soft ombré background. You can also use white embossing powder for a similar effect. It was hard to capture the clear embossed florals of the center panel in the photos, but in real life they add a beautiful subtle pattern, texture, and shine that I really love.
