Layered Dimension and Color Harmony | Jody Morrow

Elegant design often lives at the intersection of softness and strength. In this project, I used the Petal Poise stamp set and Ribbon Splendor die to create a composition that’s airy yet full of presence. The florals were embossed in iridescent gold, ink blended in a gradient of pinks from Ballet Slipper to Raspberry Bliss, and balanced with serene aquas and teals. The Ribbon Splendor die, shaded in matching tones, weaves gracefully through the design—anchored over a crisp, white trellis background for subtle structure. The result is a card that feels both romantic and refined, with dimension that catches the light from every angle.

How to recreate this card:

1. Create an A2 top-folding card base. 
2. Die cut the trellis from white cardstock and adhere it to the card base.
3. Use the Ribbon Slendor stencil with the following colors: 
   1. Stencil 1: Raspberry Bliss
   2. Stencil 2: Ballet Slipper, Sparkling Rose
   3. Stencil 3: Sparkling Rose, Raspberry Bliss
4. Die cut the ribbon with the coordinating die and stack with 2 blank die cuts. Adhere to the card base. 
5. Stamp the images and sentiment with Versamark and heat emboss with iridescent gold embossing powder.
6. Add color with the coordinating stencils: 
   1. Stencil 1: Ballet Slipper, Sparkling Rose
   2. Stencil 2: Sparkling Rose, Raspberry Bliss
   3. Stencil 3: Raspberry Bliss
   4. Stencil 4: Ocean Breeze, Aquamarine
   5. Stenci 5: Mermaid Cove, Tidal Pond
7. Die cut the images and sentiment and stack with 2 blanks.
8. Adhere the flower clusters using thick foam tape.
9. Adhere the sentiment atop the center flower cluster using liquid glue.

To customize this look, try swapping the pinks for cool purples or corals for a fresh seasonal twist. Use silver or rose gold embossing powder for a different metallic finish, or simplify by adhering all the elements flat for a cleaner, more modern feel. For extra luxury, layer vellum behind the trellis or add pearl embellishments for added luminosity. No matter your approach, this design shows that soft doesn’t have to mean subtle—when layered thoughtfully, it can absolutely shine.
