Joyful Peonies & Best Wishes | Dilay Nacar

Joyful Peonies & Best Wishes | Dilay Nacar

Hello, friends!

Dee here and I’m excited to be sharing a new card that I created featuring the Joyful Peonies hot foil plate, die, and stencils! I’ve paired these delicate florals with an edgy vintage gold backdrop for contrast, and I’m super happy with how it turned out!

For the background, I started with an A2-sized piece of white cardstock and added a touch of color by lightly ink blending with Ballet Slipper, focusing most of the color on the right side of the panel. Next, I die cut the Simply Hexagons die three times, stacked and adhered them together, then heat embossed the top layer with gold (again focusing most of the gold on the right side) leaving the edges slightly messy for a vintage-distressed look. When dry, I adhered that onto the ink blended panel.

Next, I cut a piece of white cardstock and a piece of matte gold foil slightly larger than the Joyful Peonies hot foil plate, placed them onto the hot foiling dock, and followed the prompts until my machine was ready to go. Once hot, I ran it through a die cutter (only for the pressure, not to cut) to create a beautifully foiled image! Now time to add the color with the coordinating Joyful Peonies stencils! For the blooms I used Raspberry Bliss, Peach Fuzz, and Sweet Mustard inks, and for the foliage, I went with Mint and Meadow inks.  Once the coloring was complete, I aligned the coordinating die and cut out the image. I adhered the Joyful Peonies to the right of the panel then die cut a few Leafy Branch dies (ink blending only a few with Mint ink) and tucked them in behind the Joyful Peonies.

For the sentiment, I foiled Best Wishes in matte gold foil onto white cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating die. I then die cut it twice more in white cardstock, adhered the two layers together, and ink blended the top with Ballet Slipper. I adhered the foiled Best Wishes on top of the two layers, slightly off-set for a shadow effect, and adhered it to the panel. Finally, to complete the card, I added a few jewels for some sparkle!

I hope that you enjoyed learning about this card and are inspired by it! Thank you so much for stopping by!

♡ Dee
