From Our Home to Yours

From Our Home to Yours

Hi everyone! It's Anne here with a fun slimline card made with a new stamp set from Pinkfresh Studio's holiday release, Our Home To Yours. I just loved the idea of stamping a forest of snowy trees between two neighboring homes.

I started by making a stencil, just a wavy line on some scrap paper, and used Pinkfresh's Summer Shower and a blender brush to blend snow banks onto a light blue piece of paper. Then I started stamping trees, first with a white pigment ink then Sky Blue for a very faded and distant looking forest. Then I used Summer Shower and Seaside to stamp more trees and bring them forward a little bit.

When the trees were done it was time to add snow! I love to splatter paint and ink. First I used white pigment ink mixed with water to splatter, then I used white gouache and water which was a little more opaque and at the last I used a white gel pen. I was having fun trying to figure out how to bring a little depth and interest to the scene.

Those charming houses were stamped in the bold red of Pinkfresh's Berrylicious and cut out with the accompanying Our Home to Yours die set. I arranged them on the card to see where I needed to stamp the strings of Christmas lights before I popped them up on some foam tape to adhere them in the spaces left for them. After I stamped the lights but before gluing down the houses, I worried that the yellow ink I used might be too faint, so I went back over them with a very sharp orange-y pencil, to make them stand out a bit more on that blue background.

I used Pinkfresh's Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles die to cut out the forested scene and adhered it to the card base. Then I used the same Berrylicious red ink to stamp the sentiment from the Our Home To Yours set, and topped it with a clear/glitter embossing powder. I thought that the card need something else after all that, so I used some blue Nuvo drops here and there.

I hope that some of my design choices have inspired you to make something new today. Thanks for coming by!
