Creating Fun Backgrounds with Repeat Stamping | Kathleen Schmelz

Happy Monday, Pinkfresh Studio fans! It's Kathleen back with you today and I wanted to share an idea for how you can get more out of your stamp sets!

I love the new Ice Cream Truck product suite from the Delights & Doodles release and creating cute little scenes with it. I also enjoy taking a closer look at my stamps and dies to find new ways to use them and create different looks. And creating a background pattern is one super quick and easy way to do that!

So, let's see how you can recreate this card:

1. Cut & fold an A2 card base from white cardstock (side- or top-folding).
2. Cut a panel of white cardstock to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".
3. Stamp the large ice cream cone from the Ice Cream Truck set in Licorice ink on the panel to create a playful all-over pattern. Start with one in the center on the panel & then rotate the stamp and let some images run off the panel for added interest.
4. Stamp one more ice cream cone on a separate piece of white cardstock.
5. Stamp the small sprinkles stamps from the same set in Lemon Whip, Peach Fuzz, and Ballet Slipper to fill the space in between the ice cream cones.
6. Use the coordinating stencils to color the ice cream cones with the following colors:
   1. Warm Buff for the waffle
   2. Lemon Whip, Peach Fuzz, Ballet Slipper for the ice cream scoops on the panel
   3. Ballet Slipper, Mint, Espresso for the ice cream on the separate piece
7. Die cut the single ice cream cone with the coordinating die.
8. Die cut the panel with the second-largest Single Stitch Rectangles die.
9. Heat emboss a sentiment of your choice from the Ice Cream Truck stamp with white detail embossing powder on a thin strip of light pink cardstock.
10. Cut into a sentiment strip and wrap around the die-cut panel.
11. Adhere the thin frame flat to the card base, and mount the large panel with foam adhesive.
12. Adhere the die-cut ice cream cone with foam adhesive over the one in the center of the panel.
13. Embellish to your liking with Jewels or Clear Drops. I used Ballet Slipper jewels for my card.
