Rainbow Magic: Inlay Technique with a Coverplate Die | Dana Kirby

Hi friends! It's Dana here today and I am sharing how to create a rainbow card panel with the Scallop Glow Coverplate die. I love all things rainbow and the Scallop Glow Coverplate die is the perfect backdrop for a rainbow themed card.

How to recreate this card:

1. Use the Scallop Glow Coverplate die to create your card panel with white cardstock. 

2. Attach your card panel to an A2 card base.

3. Choose your cardstock colors (14 colors) to create your rainbow.

4. Use your paper trimmer to trim cardstock colors into 1.5" strips. You will need one strip of each color. *Using strips allows for less waste of your cardstock. 

5. Die cut each strip of cardstock with the Scallop Glow Coverplate die. 

6. Inlay the small cardstock pieces back into the card panel with liquid glue. You will want to use your Dual Tip Embellishment Tool and liquid adeshvie for this step.

7. Use the Rooted in Wonder stamp set to stamp your sentiment. 

8. Die cut your sentiment with the coordinating Rooted in Wonder die three times. Stack and glue the sentiments together to create some dimension. 

9. Attach your sentiment to your card panel. 

10. Finish your card by adding a few Dew Drops: Iridescent jewels for a little added sparkle.    

A rainbow themed card is so fun to create and it's sure to put a smile on the recipient's face! I love how this card can be used for so many different occasions by just changing the sentiment. I hope I inspired you to create an inlaid rainbow background of your own!
