Combining Floral Stamps | Jenny Colacicco
Hello there crafty friends! It's Jenny here, and I'm hoping I can get your week off to a good start with some new prettiness to inspire you. Today I'm combining two gorgeous floral stamp sets, both illustrated by Emily Midgett - the brand new It's A New Day Floral, and Floral Focus. They work perfectly together, let me show you.
I first stamped the It's a New Day Floral main stamp - these are all part of one stamp that can be easily stamped and then die cut with the largest coordinating. die - great for saving time. I stamped them onto X-Press It cardstock with Copic friendly ink and then colored them with my Copic markers. I used the BV (blue violet) markers for the florals with a touch of E (earthtones), and BG (blue-green) for the leaves. I stamped a few of the twiggy sprigs, then die cut them all out. I also added some spots of silver gel pen for highlights.
I then created my background. I first stamped the Floral Focus using Lavender ink onto white cardstock. I trimmed it down very slightly to just smaller than 4.25 x 5.5" and then ink blended Soft Lilac ink around the edges into the centre, and added a little more Lavender around the edge for depth. I then added a few splatters of a metallic gold shimmer spray which is super subtle.
I mounted the panel onto a white notecard with fun foam. I then arranged my flowers and leaves over the top, using a variety of depths of foam tape, and a few dabs of glue.
I just love the font and look of the new May release sentiment dies don't you? I couldn't resist using one here, and decided to go full glam and die cut the Lots of Love die from holographic cardstock, overlaid on vellum. I just love how it catches the light and reflects back all those pretty colors. Holo cardstock is a great choice for coordinating with almost any color card.
I mounted the sentiment on tiny strips of foam tape over the florals, and then to finish, added some blue-green jewels to coordinate with the leaves.
I love how this turned out, and just goes to show how versatile stamps are - use a main stamp as a background and pair them with focal image die cuts for lots of florally fun!
Have a great week!
Jenny

Stunning design, beautiful colouring of the florals and a fab layout!
Beautiful! The touch of blue green on the leaves is a lovely contrast to the soft purples.
