Happy Tuesday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you a very colorful “Pop-Up” inspiration card made with lots of dimension and a floral look using: Brighter Days Stamp, Brighter Days layering Stencils, Brighter Days Die, and Curvy Leaves Die Set for the floral touch. Also, Sparkling Diamonds Die to add a detailed front card panel. Plus, Fancy Script Words Hot Foil and Fancy Script Words Die for the card sentiment. And, last but not least, I’ve used PFS- Inks as well to add the pop of colors the flowers and leaves. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I started off by getting the stamping and gold embossing process done for the flowers and leaves over a large piece of extra smooth white cardstock using, Brighter Days Stamp. The stamping and gold heat embossing process was quite simple to get it done, as I used my stamping platform and the flowers and leaves it’s a one-piece stamp image. Thus, as soon as I had the first stamping completed, I’ve gone ahead to repeat the process, so I could have doubles of each stamped image.

Thus, as soon as, I’ve had finished the stamping and gold heat embossing process for them, I’ve gone ahead to place the first cardstock piece over my stencil mat to add the pop of color to the flowers and leaves using: Brighter Days layering Stencils. By the way, this set includes 5 pieces, and the hues that I used were: Peach Fuzz Ink, Apricot Ink, Clementine Ink, and Persimmon Ink for the peachy-orange flowers + Lavender Ink, Regal Kiss with touches of Gathered Twigs Ink and Espresso Ink for the purple flowers. Then, for the leaves, I used Evergreen Ink with a touch of Metropolis Ink. I would like to mention that I used warms and a gray hues to dull the colors. Because I was striving to get a colorful, but a settle look at the same time.

Having that being said, right after that I’ve had finished inking up the first panel, I’ve gone ahead to repeat the same process for the second panel, and then, I put them off to the side, so I could create the pop-up card base from white cardstock. So, to do that, I trimmed down an 8-1/2 x 11.0 inches cardstock sheet in half to create two side folding white card bases. Then, I went ahead to trim off 1/4” of an inch from the top and the side of one of the card bases, to make it smaller than the other. Next, I placed the smaller card base over my cutting mat with its spine facing towards me to create the pop-up effect by adding a few tracing lines using a pencil and a metallic ruler and then, adding a few cuts using a pair of sharped scissors.

So, for the cuts, I went ahead to use the ruler and pencil to leave a 1/2” inch space from each side of the card and then, I’ve got traced a line from the spine to card opening at 1-3/4” inches mark. Next, I left 1/2 inch of space and then, I’ve traced another line at the same 1-3/4” inches height to create the first pop-up effect. Right after, that I have that done, I’ve gone ahead to leave another 1/2” inch and then, I’ve got traced another line but in the same direction but this time at 1.0” inch mark. Lastly, I left another 1/2” inch of space and then, I’ve got traced another line at the 1.0” inch height. Having that being said, I went ahead to repeat the same steps for the other side of the card until I ended up leaving 1-1/4” inches of space in the middle of the card. So, after getting the lines traced, I’ve gone ahead to use a pair of scissor to create the cuts following the traced lines. Thus, as soon as, I’d gotten finished cutting them out, I’ve gone ahead to pop them up towards the inside of the card and then, I’ve got them fold over in the center of it (as shown in the image above.) Nevertheless, once I had that done, I’ve gone ahead to keep the card base close with the folds in place and then, I added pieces of strong double-sided adhesive to the front and back of it to get the card base adhered with the pop-up effect inside to the inside of the actual card.

Moving on, once I had the card base ready to assemble it, I went ahead to put it off to the side while I’ve the die-cutting process completed for the flowers and leaves using, Brighter Days Die. Therefore, after getting each flower and leaves cluster cut out from the cardstock, I went ahead to lay them out over the pop-up walls that I had created until, I had each of them in place creating that way not only the pop-up effect but a 3D floral look as well. By the way, I added an extra leafy effect by adding gold leaves as well. And, for those leaves, I used Curvy Leaves Die Set and gold cardstock.

Lastly, to complete the inside pop-up design for the card, I went ahead to add a dimensional Happy Birthday card sentiment along with a flower and leafy touch to the base of the card for a completed look. However, if happens that you re-create this card, you can skip this step and leave this space blank to write a personal message instead.

This is a very dimensional card, so to keep it closed first, I went ahead to create a belly band closure. Therefore, I’ve got trimmed down a large piece of translucent vellum with a 1-1/2” inches width.

Next, I’ve got the belly band closure embellished with the leftover flowers and leaves. so, to do that, I went ahead to create a dimensional floral cluster over it and then, I added another dimensional sentiment to create a Hey, card sentiment with a hidden and continuous Happy Birthday greeting. Although, I used the stamping and gold embossing technique for the flowers and leaves, I decided to add a touch of hot foil stamping as well, so for the hot foil stamping I used Fancy Script Words Hot Foil and Fancy Script Words Die.

Finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to use Sparkling Diamonds Die along with a large piece of white cardstock to cut out and add an elegant and detailed touch for a white-on-white look. So, after adding the detailed touch to it, I went ahead to get the backing of it adhered to the front card base and then, I slide over the card its embellished belly band closure creating that way a simple look at glance but with a full hidden pop-up effect.
