Adding colorful stripes to your frames

Adding colorful stripes to your frames

Hello again Pinkfresh friends!

I'm back again on the blog with some ideas to create framed designs.

The Pinkfresh Studio Challenge theme for this month is all about frames and that's exactly where my inspiration to create these designs came from.

I created my designs using basic dies from Pinkfresh Studio: Nested Diamond diesNested Hexagons dies, Essential Stitched Scallop Square dies, Essential Diagonal Stitched Circles Die set, and combined them with the new Pure Joy, Lantern Botanicals and Breezy Blossoms sets.

For my first design I created a top folding easel card. I cut out an 4 1/4 by 11 inches white cardstock and scored it at 5 1/2 as you would normally do and  I scored it again at 2 3/4. Next up I used the Pure Joy Press Plate to foil the image with Gold matte foil and colored it using the coordinating stencils using Sweet Mustard, Cherry Blossoms, Begonia, Spruce Tips and Emerald.

To create the circle frame, I adhered some colorful strips onto an A2 card, placed the Essential Diagonal circle dies on top and run it through my die cutting machine. I always want to add some extra texture to my designs, so I dry embossed the Floral Round Frame Press Plate and adhered my round frame with double sided foam adhesive to this piece.

Lastly, I arranged all the greenery and the bird onto the circle, applied some glue on the lower part of this circle and adhered it to my card base. I gold heat embossed this beautiful sentiment from the set All kinds of wonderful and added some Enchanted Forest Ombre Glitter drops.

For my second project I created another easel card. This time I used an A2 side folding card and scored one of the sides at 2 1/4.

I created my hexagon frame following the same steps I did in the previous ones. This time I stamped the Lantern Botanicals stamp in Warm Buff and at the same time I used the Lantern Botanicals Hot Foil and the coordinating stencils to color the images. I used Soft Lilac, Candy Violet, Regal Kiss, Sheer Fressia and Wisteria. I tucked the foiled lantern underneath the sentiment and gold heat embossed the sentiment from the Happy Vibes stamp set. Of course I had to add some texture to this design so again, I dry embossed the Floral and Diamond tiles coverplate die, cut in half and adhered each part to the front folded panels of my card.  Lastly I adhered some Lilac Clear Drops.

For this design I used the Breezy Blossoms hot foil with Silver foil. I used Sweet Mustard, Ballet Slipper, Sheer Fressia, Seaside and Stargazer.

I added some texture to my background dry embossing an A2 panel with the Dotted Petals Press Plate. I also added some vellum leaves I created using the Breezy Blooms Stamp set and some Stary Night Ombre Clear drops.

Since I had some Breezy Blooms leftovers I created a square card using the Essential Stitched Scallop Square dies to create a frame just as the previous ones.

To add some interest to my background I used the Stippled Plaid Press Plate to hot foil this pattern with silver glimmer hot foil.

I hope you like these ideas and have fun creating!

Thank you so much for stopping by and happy crafting!

Raquel
