Travel Layouts with the Out and About Collection

Travel Layouts with the Out and About Collection

16 Apr 2019 0 Comments

Hello!  Lorilei here today sharing two travel layouts using the Out and About collection!  I love the colors and icons in Out and About, in my opinion, the collection is great for small and big trips!

My first layout documents a day trip to the big city.  My cousin and I like to meet up for the day and head to the movies, shop and have lunch.  I started by cutting a house on the hill cut file design made by Annetts Designs.  I thought it would be super cute to represent the city.  I used the New Places rainbow paper to fill in the rainbow on the cut file.  I decided not to back the rest of the cut file, leaving it white for a subtle look.

When I had the cut file placed, I decided the layout needed more jazz!  I primed my white background with clear gesso and then added washes of color with the Pinkfresh Studio Liquid Watercolors.  I chose five colors and kept the washes behind the cut file spots and added some extra sprinkles of color where I knew the photo would be.

Once my paint was all dry I adhered the cut file with foam dots so there would be some nice dimension.  I started with my small cluster of embellishments on the left side of the rainbow.  I love that Out and About includes driving icons in the collection, so I selected those as the "start" of my trip.  I cut quite a few stamps from the Tickets paper and added foam dots to adhere them.

I used the gorgeous green alphas for my Day Trip title which leads over to my photo area.  I used two tags behind the photo, another ticket and the fun epoxy circle from the Mixed Embellishment Pack to finish it off!  I love how bright and cheery the layout is!

For my next layout, I chose two photos from a trip to Montana.  I decided to use a blue, green and yellow color scheme for this layout.  I turned to the stamps on the Ticket paper again and chose 5 of them to string together at the bottom of the photos!  I love how cute they are!

I knew I wanted to use the Go tag for my main focal point.  I ran it through my typewriter and found a place for it in my design.  The adventurer's layered frame fit perfectly over my photo, so it had to be included!  I added the frame with foam dots for an extra layer to my design.

At this point, I was left with a lot of white space on the background, so I decided to add paint!  I chose to use blues for the painted background since the yellow and green were pretty well represented in the products.  I did the packaging technique and added splatters and set it aside to dry thoroughly.

For finishing touches I added an epoxy paper clip, the super cute row of trees puffy sticker and the explorers square from the Mixed Embellishments.  I love how this page turned out!

Thank you for joining me here today!  I hope you found a little inspiration to scrap your travel photos!
