Stamping with Escape the Ordinary

Stamping with Escape the Ordinary

08 Oct 2017 0 Comments

Hi there!  It's Ashley, and I'm here today to share some fun stamping ideas with you, using the Escape the Ordinary collection.  When it comes to stamping, I usually like to keep things simple.  But you can still create a big impact with simple stamping.  One of my favorite techniques is to stamp over patterned paper and then fussy cut the image and add it to my layout.  And that's exactly what I did on my first layout.

I have this thing for clouds.  I've always loved them on my layouts.  So I decided to use the cloud stamp from the Escape the Ordinary collection.  I stamped it several times onto different patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad.  Then I cut each one out, leaving a thin margin around the stamp outline.

Before adding the clouds to the layout, I cut a large title on my Silhouette Cameo.  I wanted to layer the clouds over the title.  When I adhered them over the title, I placed some directly onto the background paper and others, I added with pop dots.  I love the look of the different dimensions this technique adds to the clouds.

After getting the title and clouds completed, I started to add the finishing embellishments.  I always like to layer embellishments over my photo, whenever I have white space, because it helps bring attention to the photo.  I also placed some of the embellishments over the stamped clouds for added interest.

On the second layout, I decided to go for a completely different look.  I love that you can easily use the Escape the Ordinary collection for masculine or feminine layouts!  The tags in the collection caught my eye, for this layout.  I thought it would be a good idea to stamp some of the sentiments from the stamp set onto different tags from the Layered Tags pack.

I used the tags to create a free-form grid look on a white card stock background.  I also wanted a pop of color around the edge, so I backed the card stock with the Wander patterned paper.  Once I had all of the tags arranged the way I wanted them, I placed my photo first.  Then I stamped a few of the different sentiments on the surrounding tags.

I love how the stamping on the tags fits right in with all of the embellishments I added.  It looks like the stamping was already a part of each tag!  Once I finished the layout, I wanted to bring in one more image from the stamp set.  I used the cute little leaf and stamped it onto a left over piece of white card stock.  Then I cut it out and tucked it in with two of the embellishment clusters.

Can you believe that both of these layouts came from the same collection??!!  I always love working with collections that can be used in so many ways.  And if you love stamping, you've got it made, with the fun coordinating stamp sets.  They are perfect for your layouts, hand-made cards, Traveler's Notebooks and many other projects.  I hope you've found some inspiration today for using Pinkfresh Studio stamps on your next layout!
