New Collections: Layout Inspiration

Hi PF friends! It's Ashley, and I'm excited to share two layouts with you today using the new Be You collection and The Mix No. 2 collection. All of the new releases from Pinkfresh Studio are amazing, and I'm always so inspired when I sit down to work with the collections.
On my first layout, using the Be You collection, I wanted to incorporate a lot of the patterned papers. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a heart shape and backed each one with paper from the 6x6 paper pad.
I used White card stock for the background, so the patterned papers behind the hearts would really stand out. The contrast really makes the papers pop! Once I had the hearts arranged, I machine stitched down the center of each one to add some texture to the layout.
Here's a fun tip for using multiple photos on a layout, if you are not used to using more than one...turn your multiple photos into one! I loved this photo series of our middle daughter, but sometimes it's difficult for me to incorporate multiple photos into my layout design. Placing the photos together in a photo strip and trimming it into a single photo worked perfectly for my layout.
I usually save my embellishments for placement, after I have the main page design and photo in place. This lets me see where the best places are for my embellishments, and the best way to balance my layout. I mixed the Ephemera Pieces, Wood & Epoxy Buttons, Puffy Stickers, and Chipboard stickers to complete the look of my layout.
My second layout, uses The Mix No. 2 collection. This collection is filled with embellishments, that include lots of fun, bright colors and shapes! What's better than a collection filled with embellishments??!!
You can mix the embellishments from the collection with some of your favorite patterned papers. I used a neutral patterned paper for my background, from the A Case of the Blah's collection. I started the layout, with a large stitched title and circle, because I wanted the embellishments to be placed around the outside edge of the circle.
After I finished all of the stitching, I started working on the embellishment clusters...which is one of my favorite techniques when I'm using a mix of embellishments. I began the first cluster with my photo, and then started placing the different embellishments above and below the photo.
In order to create a balanced look on my layout, I created a second cluster on the right hand side of the circle. I didn't have a second photo to use, so I started the base of my cluster with one of the tags from the Ephemera Pieces. Then I arranged more embellishments around the tag. I wanted to incorporate some of the fun alpha stickers, so I used them as a finishing touch to the layout, by including them in my title.
I hope you've found some inspiration from today's layouts, for using the Be You and The Mix No. 2 collections! If you have any questions or comments, make sure to leave them below! And check your favorite online shops to pick up the newest releases from Pinkfresh Studio!
