Hey everyone! It's Kathleen here and I'm excited to be bringing you a scrapbooking layout again. It's been a while since I've made a layout as I've been more focused on cardmaking the past few months.

When it came to creating this page, I felt a little "rusty", so I decided to revisit one of my favorite techniques when I don't know where to start: Fussy cut a large title as the main element of my layout!

I like to choose a title that lends itself to backing one (or more) of the letters with a photo. Especially letters like A, B, C, D, G, O, P, Q, and R work well for this.

Here's how you can recreate this layout:

1. Select (5) patterned paper from the 6"x8" paper pad. Fussy cut the letters for your chosen title. Tip: Lightly sketch the letters in pencil before cutting. If you prefer more precision, type your title on a computer, print it, cut out the letters, and use them as templates on the patterned paper.
   The letters on my layout measure 3" in height, and between 0.5" (I) and 2.5" (M) in width.
   
2. Back one (or more) of the letters with your photo(s).
3. Cut a 9"x9" square from white cardstock. Optional: Sew around the edges with a coordinating thread color. Curl up the edges.
4. Adhere the letters to the piece of white cardstock using foam adhesive. Turn some of the letters to make it more dynamic and fill empty spaces.
5. Embellish with the tone-on-tone technique (i.e. adding yellow embellishments on a yellow letter, etc.). This helps keeping the layout cohesive and not making it too busy.
6. Cut an 8"x8" square from the center of the Creative Energy paper. You can keep the square for a future project.
7. Adhere the white cardstock square to the patterned paper frame using foam adhesive (or adhere directly if you don't want this much dimension).

And that's it! This layout came together really quickly and I love how it turned out. Fussy cutting a title like this is also a great way to use up scraps from a collection!
