Hello everyone! It’s Eva here on the blog today, and I’m excited to share a fun and easy layout I created with the new Legendary collection. This design features soft waves arranged inside an oval shape for a playful and eye-catching effect.
My inspiration came from a beautiful boho poster I spotted online—the design had colorful wavy shapes inside an oval, and I thought it would be perfect to recreate with patterned papers. I love how it turned out, and I can’t wait to show you how to make it!

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Cut an oval from a piece of cardstock. Mine measures about 6.5 x 9.5 inches, but you can adjust the size depending on your project.
- Choose the patterned papers you’d like to use and cut them 6.5 inches wide.
- With your scissors, create a soft wavy edge at the top of each strip and then layer them one over the other until the oval is completely covered.
- Trim away any excess around the edges.
- Place the oval on your background page to mark where it will go, and use inks to create a soft watercolor frame around it. For mine, I used Seaside, Summer Shower, Meadow, Citron, Limoncello, Peach Fuzz, and Persimmon.
- To give the papers more dimension, gently bend the edges with your fingers before adding your photos on top.
- Decorate by adding numbers from the 6x8 paper pad, along with some Ephemera pieces.
- Finally, complete your layout with chipboard shapes and a few enamel dots for extra detail.
Tip:If your page curls a little after using watercolors, just run it through the laminator a couple of times—it will flatten right out.
I hope you like this project. Have a great week!
Eva
