A Multi-Photo Gallery Layout Using Essential Dies | Kathleen Schmelz

Hey friends! It's Kathleen here with you today. Now I know it's almost Christmas and the rest of the Design Team has been sharing beautiful inspiration with the Very Merry Christmas collection, but I thought for today I'd share a layout using the Lovely Lane collection.

However, the basic design of this page could very easily be translated and used for whatever collection you have in your stash!

This page started with the idea of creating a sort of gallery-wall look and I wanted to include more than one photo. There are lots of great Pinkfresh Studio Essential Dies you could use to create some frames for the photos and patterned papers in your "gallery wall" but I find myself reaching for the Nested Rectangles Postage Edge die quite a bit!

Let's take a look at how you can recreate this layout:

1. Die cut the following dies from the Nested Rectangles Postage Edge dies from white cardstock: (2) second-largest (approx. 3.5" x 4.5"), (2) third-largest (approx. 2 5/8" x 4"), and (3) fourth-largest (approx. 2" x 3 1/4").
2. Print & cut up to (3) photos to 1.5" x 2 3/4" & adhere to the smallest rectangle die cuts. If you use less than 3 photos, I'd recommend printing them larger and filling the smallest rectangles with patterned paper instead.
3. Select different patterned papers from the 6" x 8" paper pad and cut down to fill the 4 larger rectangles. Note: I let one of the large rectangles run off the page, trimmed off the excess and used it on the other side of the layout, so I used 2 different papers here.
4. Adhere the rectangles in a horizontal line in the center of the layout, staggering them and letting them overlap in some places. Make sure your photos are always in the top layer to draw more focus to them. Use a mix of tape runner & foam adhesive to create depth & dimension.
5. Tuck floral embellishments behind some of the rectangles and let them overlap your photos and the other layers to highlight the depth.
6. Add your title using alpha stickers.
7. Embellish to your liking using Enamel Shapes, Chipboard Stickers, Rub-ons, or Layered Stickers.

If you are not a fan of this much white space, you could also add a patterned paper border or some colorful stitching at the top and bottom. And as for the journaling, you can either add this to one of the patterned papers (if you have one that's a bit more neutral) or nestle it somewhere in between.

This layout came together really quickly and it's also a great one to use up some leftover patterned paper scraps! I hope you feel inspired by this project.
