Florals on a winter layout | Else Huinink

Florals on a winter layout | Else Huinink

Hi crafty friends, thank you for being here on the Pinkfresh Studio blog!

Today I'm sharing this winter layout I've made with the beautiful Oh what fun! collection by PFS. I tried to stay away from the Christmas themed pieces and I used stamped florals as the main embellishments.

This picture was taken in 'the big city' of Amsterdam, where we went in 2019 for a concert. The paper 'Holiday walk' is a fun map of a city, so I was inspired to use this as my background.

I used the paper as is, but if you like the pattern to be more muted, you could use white paint or gesso to cover some of it up.

I distressed the edges with my scissors and then stitched the patterned paper to a white piece of cardstock.

I backed the picture with vellum, a doily and the two papers 'Christmas gifts' and 'Holiday walk'.

With the Embroidered blossoms stamp set and coordinating dies I created a bunch of small and bigger flowers and leaves, and scattered those around the picture to draw the attention to the picture.

I used the ink cubes for this, in the colors Candy apple, Marigold, Tidal pond, Mermaid cove, Passion fruit and Coral reef

I used bits and pieces from the other embellisments, like labels and stars from the cardstock stickers and a few puffy and chipboard stickers. I love all this variety in the PFS collections!

I fussycut some poinsettias from the paper 'Season of joy' to mix with the stamped florals.

The title is spelled with the bright blue puffy alphas and really pop off the page! The white Essentials jewels mix give a nice sparkle as a finishing touch!

Hope you've found some inspiration today and have fun creating beautiful projects yourselves! XO Else
