Hello Pinkfresh Studio friends! It's Susi here today on the Pinkfresh studio blog! I'm excited to share a festive 12" x 12" layout made with the Very Merry Christmas collection.

This project was inspired by the Warmth & Wonder paper (B-side), the beautiful hanging stars instantly sparked the idea for creating my own set of dimensional ornaments suspended from golden twine. it's a layout full of movement, color, and Christmas magic!

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Place the baker's twine. on your 12" x12" white cardstock base , adhere four vertical gold baker twine strands. Leave 2 1/4" of space from the left edge before placing the first strand. Space each of the four strands 2 1/2" apart.
2. Prepare the ornaments. Fussy cut the ornaments shapes from the Feel like Christmas paper. Use one of the ornaments as a template to cut your photo. Then cut (8) more ornaments from patterned papers in red, blue, green and purple (2 of each color).
3. Create 3D ornaments. Fold each ornament in half. To assemble each 3D ornament, glue one folded half to another, repeating until the ornament has the desired volume and symmetry. I used 3 layers but you can use more.
4. Create the stars. Using one of the stars from the Ephemera pack as a template, cut additional stars from papers that complement your project. The Very Merry Christmas collection includes many star elements. Use them all to add movement and sparkle.
5. Hang the ornaments. Attach the 3D ornaments & stars along the baker's twine using the tone-on-tone technique to give them a realistic hanging look.
6. Add decorative details. Embellish the layout with Puffy Stickers, Cardstock Stickers, Ephemera, Enamel Shapes, and Wood Stars. Add smaller details around the ornaments to bring the page to life.
7. Add the title. Finish by placing your title, either using the Chipboard Titles as I did, or by creating your own with Puffy Alpha Stickers.

To add extra dimension to your stars, gently fold their diagonals lines and fold each arm in half. This makes the stars pop beautifully and enhances 3D feel of the layout.
