It is a Super Cool/ Favorite Teenage Story

It is a Super Cool/ Favorite Teenage Story

Hello Pinkfresh Studio friends!

Nathalie with you today  sharing a few ideas on documenting your teenagers using the new Super Cool and My Favorite Story collections.   Teenagers can be a bit tricky to document specially when they are so different.  So i set out to create simple pages that capture each of my  kids using the beautiful and new versatile collections.   Let's get started:

YOU Today

The new My Favorite Story collection was my choice to document my daughter.  The soft colors, lovely designs, florals and accents of black make it so versatile and perfect for my daughter's seventeen year portrait.

I used the Beauty of Simplicity paper as the background for this page.  A little white acrylic paint creates the blank space for the picture and embellishments without taking over the entire background.   I chose to back and layer the picture with papers from the collection, and set it on the background.

To keep the focus on the picture of my baby girl, i cut two frames from heavy white cardstock using the Ornate Oval Frame Die.  I was careful not to take all the negative pieces from one of the cuts, so that i could create the embossed look on the frame edges when the die cuts were stacked together.   I glued the frame right on top of the picture, then added a cute small bow ( these are so easy to construct) at the bottom of the picture.

All the cute embellishments in this collection make it so easy to create clusters around the picture.   The white alphas have a small detail in gold foil that i just couldn't resist and used them to create the title of the page.  You can see how this page came together in the following video:

Just loved the soft look of the page, and how easy it came together.   Now let me show you what i created for my nineteen year old son using the new Super Cool collection.

HELLO NINETEEN

This page is all  about mixing the designs and color of the Super Cool collection.   The starting point was the Super Fun paper, i fussy cut the column of embellishments and used them to create a horizontal design on the page.

To build the background of the page, i stitched together the left over piece of the paper to a piece of the Choir paper.    All that clean grid paper was the perfect spot to add the picture and embellishments in one large cluster.

With so many fun designs and sentiments in the stickers, ephemera pieces and acetate embellishments, it was so easy to create the large clusters surrounding the picture.  I made sure that i could also add dimension by adding a bit of foam adhesive to the back of some of the embellishments.

All that was left was to add a title and journal to the page.   The large light blue alphas were the perfect size to balance the page.   I combined a puffy sticker and embellishment pieces to help complete the title and add color to the journal lines.  The last touch were enamel dots around the entire page.  The following video will show you how it all came together:

I am sure you all are going to love these new collections.   They are colorful, beautiful and versatile.  I cannot wait how you use them on you projects.  Remember to check the collections and dies in the Pinkfresh Studio shop!
