Lovely Lane Scrapbook Layout with Layered Background | Karlla Dauer

Hello Pinkfresh Friends! It’s Karlla here, and I’m so happy to share a new project with you today. This time I’m working with the beautiful Lovely Lane collection.

I can hardly believe I created a layout featuring a photo of just myself. Ever since becoming a mom, I rarely take photos alone, so documenting this moment felt a little special. The soft colors and playful elements in this collection were perfect for creating a layered background and highlighting the photo.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Tear one side of the purple paper, approximately 6 inches long.
Perform the same work on the blue-background floral paper, approximately 5 inches in size.
Position and glue them onto the light pink cardstock.
If you prefer, you can add a machine-stitched finish after the papers have been glued down.
Place a photo onto this chrome base, using three layers of foam tape to create dimension relative to the stars that will follow.
Separate the stars from the Ephemera kit and adhere them around the photo using layers of foam tape.
Add the flower sprigs from "Floral Ephemera" below the photo.
To complete the decoration, I chose some "Rub-on" images. Apply them to white cardstock, and once cut out, attach them around the photo using foam tape.
To finish, add the beautiful "Enamel Shapes" details.

I really enjoyed creating this layout and love how the torn paper background adds texture while helping the embellishments stand out.

The Lovely Lane collection made it so easy to build layers and add small details around the photo. I hope this project inspires you to experiment with torn paper backgrounds on your next layout.
