Wrapped in Christmas Joy with 3D Gifts and Playful Color Blocking

Hello, Pinkfresh friends! It’s Celes here today, sharing my Wrapped in Christmas Joy Layout, created with the beautiful Festive Fun collection!

For this project, I wanted to bring the joy of Christmas gifts to life by creating lots of tiny handmade gift boxes with beautiful dimension! I combined them with a playful color-blocked background, using the colorful stripes to guide the arrangement and create a coordinated design. The mix of colors, textures, and dimensional details adds a fun and festive touch while keeping a special Christmas memory at the heart of the layout.

Step-by-Step Instructions: 

Base of layout

1. Use the "Cozy Season" patterned paper from the Festive Fun collection as the base of the layout.
2. Cut a 9" x 9" square from the center of the patterned paper, leaving a 1 1/2" border on all four sides.
3. Cut an 11" x 11" square from white textured cardstock.
4. Optionally, add a stitched border around the edges of the white textured cardstock.
5. Adhere the white cardstock to the patterned paper frame using liquid glue.
6. Center the 9" x 9" patterned paper square over the white cardstock and adhere it using 3D foam tape to add dimension.

Decorative details

1. Use the same white textured cardstock to create the base gift boxes in three different sizes: 2" x 2" squares, 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" squares, and 1" x 1 1/2" rectangles. All boxes should have a depth of 1/4".
2. Prepare a total of 13 gift boxes: four 2" x 2" square boxes, five 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" square boxes, and four 1" x 1 1/2" rectangular boxes.
3. Cover each gift box with patterned paper from the Festive Fun 6" x 6" Paper Pad, cutting strips to fit each box. Add two different styles of ribbon or twine for the bows: a rustic style for some packages and gold ribbon for the larger ones.
4. Begin arranging the gift boxes on the layout, using the 2" x 2" boxes as the base of the composition. Gradually add the remaining boxes at different heights to create a dimensional arrangement.
5. Prepare a vertical photo measuring 4 1/4" x 8". Mount it onto a cardstock backing to create a pocket for a journaling card. Adhere the photo to the layout using 3D foam tape.
6. Create the title using one of the phrase strips from the collection, trimming it to fit the composition.
7. Decorate the gift arrangement with chipboard flairs, wooden embellishments, and enamel dots. Add colorful confetti die-cut from the same patterned paper design used for the background, using the 6" x 6" Paper Pad.
8. Create a decorative pull tab for the journaling card using a Chipboard Flair piece combined with an ephemera embellishment.
