2 Back to School layouts, featuring the Office Hours collection

2 Back to School layouts, featuring the Office Hours collection

02 Aug 2019 0 Comments

Hello Pinkfresh Studio friends!  It's Jung here, and today I'm sharing 2 back to school layouts that I created using the new Office Hours collection.  You can now purchase this collection directly through the Pinkfresh Studio website.  The 12x12 paper pack is available here, and the embellishment bundle is available here.  Even though this collection is office themed, it is so versatile!  I've already used it on a layout featuring coffee and my scrap room, and today I'm using it for school layouts.

For my first layout, I wanted to document my oldest daughter's first day of middle school.  It was the first time we didn't walk her into the school on her first day, even though we did drop her off in the morning, and it was her first time riding the bus.

I'm happy to report that Pinkfresh Studio will soon have coordinating cut files for their paper collections available for purchase, so keep an eye out for that.  The cut file I used for this layout is called Stack of Books, and I used my Silhouette machine to cut it from white cardstock.  I used a couple pattern papers to back the cut file.

Next I worked on my background.  I used the Pinkfresh watercolors, and a couple of tiny ceramic bowls to create watercolor rings in rainbow order.  I also splattered my cardstock with the colors.

I mounted my photos on pattern paper.  The pattern paper that look like file tabs is cut from the Busy pattern paper.  I adhered my photos to the background, and embellished around them.  I used my backed cutfile, as well as Puffy stickers, Epoxy stickers, Fabric Ephemera, and Cardstock Ephemera.  I added one of the Wood Accent stickers that says "you got this" on top of the photo of my daughter walking.

I also fussy cut a section of books from the Organize pattern paper. and attached it to the bottom of my layout using foam tape.

I finished off my layout with punched stars and enamel dots.  I punched 2 different sized stars from the pattern papers, and glued on the coordinating watercolor ring colors.  (I did have to punch one pink and purple star from the Just a Little Lovely pattern papers to get a few pink and purple embellishments.)  I also added some enamel dots to the coordinating colors.  I used the yellow and blue from this collection, but I pulled a few enamel dots from previous Pinkfresh collections.

This layout turned out so fun and vibrant, and I absolutely love it!  I hope it inspired you as well.

For my second layout, I have photos of my middle daughter from her first week of school in Second grade.  Taking outfit photos all week is a tradition for us.  I also keep some of the clothing tags to remember where we shopped, and what sizes they wore, so you'll see that on my layout among the embellishments.

I started with a white piece of cardstock.  I stitched lines with light blue thread to mimic the look of notebook paper.  I added my photos with foam tape, then added various embellishment clusters.  I used 2 pencils and a camera from the Chipboard stickers, I used an epoxy circle and enamel dots from the Mixed Embellishments, and aI sprinkled in a few stickers from the Phrase Sticker sheet and the Puffy Sticker sheet, as well as a few cardstock Ephemera.

I used Second Grade for my title.  I used the coral and blue Mini Puffy alphas to create my title on a journaling card from the Ephemera pack.  To finish off my layout, I added some sky blue watercolor splatters and hand drawn stars.

I absolutely love the way my traditional school themed layout turned out, and I hope you do too!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to check out this fun collection on the Pinkfresh Studio website!
