Fun with paint and watercolor using Felicity

Hi everyone this is Kim here today to share a few fun pages with you.  I love creating using paints and all sorts of mixed media.  I pull out my gesso and paints and just sort of go for it!  Most of the time I like working with lots of white space but you can create almost the same effects by just using gesso to create your own white space!

For these two pages I wanted to create just a little white space for my design by adding gesso.  I used about two layers and it dries pretty quickly.  I love how the pretty paper still shows through once you use it.

I chose to use a little copper and a somewhat unexpected color, lavender!  I felt like it was pretty along with the orange tones of the felicity paper.  I layered my embellishments over the painted areas along with some pretty craft flowers.  Perfect for spring!

For my next page I did the same thing and started with a few layers of gesso. This sweet bird paper is just right because you still see a bit of it underneath.

I think creating contrast is one of my favorite things about using paints. You get so many ooo ahh moments with different color combinations and they are endless.  I've been thinking about my upcoming summer vacation so I'm really loving blues and greens right now.  Once I finished my layer of gesso on this page I started painting with some greenish blue inks and Aqua colored paints continuing around the page.

Just for for some fun color I used a few painted flowers I had in my stash.  I love the springy layers of color and those fun label stickers from the felicity collection!

Its really all about just having fun and playing around with color!  Some of the oddest combinations always make me swoon.

Hope everyone is happy a happy start to spring!

Take care!
