Challenge #11: Shakers with Channin
Hello friends!! It’s Channin here and I’m so excited to be hosting your next World Cardmaking Day Challenge!! The next challenge theme is shaker cards!! These are my favorite interactive cards to create, I just love filling them with sparkly sequins!! However today’s card is filled not only with sequins but also snowflakes created with the new Layered Snowflake Dies.
To create this card I first die cut several snowflakes out with the Layered Snowflake dies out of white cardstock. I die cut two of each type of snowflake and then adhered the layers together to add dimension. Next, I die cut a white slimline panel (3 5/8” x 8 5/8”) with a die from the Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles die set to create frame and smaller panel for the background. I then ink blended the panel with several Pinkfresh inks (Sparkling Rose, Apricot, Whipped Lemon, Meadow, Summer Shower, & Lavender). When I had finished ink blending I then stamped the sentiment from the Merry Little Christmas stamp in Detail Black and then adhered the panel onto the front of a slimline card base (7 1/4” x 8 5/8”; scored at 3 5/8”). Next, I trimmed a sheet of acetate down to 3 5/8” x 8 5/8” and adhered it to the backside of the frame. I then added 1/4” foam adhesive to the card front, framing the ink blended panel to create a well, then filled the well with some of my snowflakes and clear sequins. Next, I removed the backing on the foam adhesive and adhered my frame to the card front. Lastly, I adhered my two remaining snowflakes to the card front.

Gorgeous card! I love the beautiful inks for your colorful background, and of course the snowflakes are lovely!
