Vibrant Ink-Blended Shaker Card with Butterfly Bliss and Beautiful Soul | Rachel Alvarado

Hello Pinkfresh Studio friends! It's Rachel here with a vibrant shaker card showcasing the gorgeous new Butterfly Bliss and Beautiful Soul stamp sets.  

I absolutely love the coverage that you can achieve with Pinkfresh Studio inks.  You can get subtle color or intense, rich colors depending on the amount of ink that you use.  I wanted to feature both of these sets since they are versatile and go very well together.

How to recreate this card:

1.  Trim a piece of smooth white card stock (I used Neenah Solar White 110lb) to 3.5" x 4.75".

2.  Use Pinkfresh Studio Inks ( Soft Lilac, Candy Violet, Lavender, and Regal Kiss) and brushes to ink blend various shades of purple to your background.  Make sure to start with your darkest color at the lower left corner of the card stock and work your way up toward the top right corner alternating with lighter colors as you go.  If extra texture is desired, spatter this background with water and blot dry with a paper towel.  When finished, set this piece aside for a few minutes to dry.

3.  Stamp your butterflies from the Butterfly Bliss Stamp Set with Detail Black Ink onto another piece of smooth white card stock.  Allow the ink to dry and then add color to the butterflies using the coordinating Butterfly Bliss Stencils and Pinkfresh inks.

• Stencil 1: Regal Kiss (in the center of the butterflies) and Ballet Slipper (in the center to outer portion of the wings)
• Stencil 2: Sparkling Rose
• Stencil 3: Bubble Gum
• Stencil 4: Regal Kiss

4.  Die cut your butterflies with the coordinating Butterfly Bliss Die Set.

5.  (See the following tip before completing this step.). Use the Beautiful Soul Stamp Set and heat emboss the larger of the two floral images onto your ink-blended panel twice with fine detail white embossing powder.

TIP: The outer edges of the ink-blended piece from step five will partially be covered by a frame, so make sure not to heat emboss your florals too close to the edge where they will not be seen.  I die cut one of my frames ahead of time and placed it on top as a reference before lining up my flowers to heat emboss them. 

6. Trim a piece of dark purple card stock to 4.25" x 5.5" and die cut it with the Stitched Basket Weave Coverplate Die before adhering it to your top-folding A2 sized card base.

7.  Attach your ink-blended piece on top of the dark purple base piece with double-sided adhesive tape.

8.  Die cut five more frames (six if you didn't do this in step five) from white card stock using the two non-stitched rectangular dies that come in the Stitched Rectangle Die Set.  Glue five of these frame pieces together with liquid adhesive and then adhere this dimensional frame to surround the ink-blended piece on your card base.

9.  Add some embellishments to the inside of the frame (I used some Clear Drops: Iridescent) and seal it off with a 3.5" x 4.75" piece of clear acetate and the final white frame for the top.

10.  Lastly, heat emboss your sentiment from the Butterfly Bliss Stamp Set with more fine detail white embossing powder onto a black piece of card stock, cut it out using the coordinating dies, and adhere it (as well as the butterflies) to your card front.  I used 3D foam adhesive tape for my butterflies to allow them to pop off the card base.
