Happy Thursday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin, here, sharing a dainty inspiration card with a “Festive & Birthday Cake ” look using the Sweet Day Hot Foil, Sweet Day Stencil, Sweet Day Stamp, and Sweet Day Die. Also, to make this card, I used Wrap Around Elements Die and Foiled Sentiments 6 to add the fringe tassel garland to the bottom part of the card and the foiled sentiment. Besides that, I used some of the Ombre Glitter Drops: Sparkle & Shine, to add an extra sparkle touch to the cake and card. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I started by getting the birthday cake hot foil stamping over a piece of white cardstock using the Sweet Day Hot Foil plate alongside the Glimmer Hot Foil System and die-cut machine. That said, as for the hot foil stamping hue, I used a large piece of the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll-Polished Brass. Then, after getting the hot foil stamping for the birthday cake, I used the stencils included in Sweet Day Stencil to add a pop of color to the cake and its banner with a combination of the following ink hues: Ballet Slipper Ink, Peach Fuzz Ink, Coral Reef Ink, Mint Ink, and Misty Coast Ink.

Next, for the layered stenciling, I used a combination of large ink blending brushes alongside the 1/2 Blending Brush Set and 1/4 Blending Brush Set for the smaller areas. Besides that, I used a craft spatula to add texture paste to the cake's icing layer and then to add even more dimension to the icing; I also added some crystal glitter over the textured paste to add a glittery look to the icing. However, I would like to mention that I did the layering using the stencil with the texture paste and glitter right after the die-cutting step using the coordinating die included in the Sweet Day Die to avoid flattening the textured paste. 

So, as soon as I had the die-cutting step, and added the glittering layered step with the texture paste and glittery for the cake. I used one of the dies included in the Wrap Around Elements Die to die-cut the dainty bow out of gold cardstock; die-cutting bow which right after I got glued to the right upper part of the cake’s banner.

Lastly, to get the cake finish, I use one of the sentiment stamps included in the Sweet Day Stamp to get the sentiment stamped with embossing ink over a piece of white cardstock. Then, I got the stamped sentiment gold heat embossing and die-cutting out from the white cardstock using its coordinating die. By the way, I used the die also to die-cut out extra plain white sentiments to add dimension, and you can see in the image above what I mean by that. That said, after adding the dimension look, I got it glued down over the left side of the cake, and then to add even more shine, I got glued down some of the Ombre Glitter Drops: Sparkle & Shine.

Nevertheless, there is also a cupcake included in the images, so I used it to get the card’s lower left corner embellished as well.

Moving on, to make this card clean and simple yet a little dimensional, I used the die included in Wrap Around Elements Die to die-cut some fringe garlands from white cardstock. So, to create the dimension pocket-looking element, I trimmed down a piece of white cardstock to H 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 inches. Then, I added some scoring lines on the left side of the cardstock pieces at 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 inches and in the same way on the other side by turning the cardstock to the other side over the scoreboard tool. Thus, after adding the scoring lines, I got the fold over using the side of the Bone folder. Lastly, I got the backing of the folds glued to a white card panel that I had previously die-cut using white cardstock and the large die included in the Essentials: Stitched Rectangles Die Set.

To keep going, I got each fringe die-cutting garland glued to the dimensional cardstock piece, and then to add a metallic gold touch, I used another die from the same set to get a decorative border die-cut out of gold cardstock. As you can see, I glued down the decorative gold border to the upper side of the dimensional piece, and then I also added one of the foiled sentiments included in the Foiled Sentiments 6.  

Lastly, to finish off the embellishment for the front card panel, I got the backing of it glued to an A2-size top folding white card base, and then I added the removable birthday cake and some glitter drops. By the way, I decided to make a removable cake to give you extra cardmaking inspiration, as you can use it by itself to make little birthday notes. Notice that the image above shows that the pocket isn't fully closed due to the removable step. But, in case you want to get it fully close, you can do it by adding a strip of liquid glue to the bottom part to get it fully closed. Also, to make the cake stand out by itself in a way that you can see in one of the images above, you can die-cut an extra white cake image, add a scoring line at 1/2 inch on the topping of the cake and then get the fold and the banner glued together to make the cake like a little shaped or note card. As a final note, if you decide not to get the pocket closed like mine, you can use magnets or small pieces of Velcro to keep the cake in its place.
