Sparkling Joy Holiday Card | Angela Simpson

Sparkling Joy Holiday Card | Angela Simpson

Hi Pinkfresh friends! Has the latest release got you feeling in a festive mood? It's certainly had that effect on me, and today I've got a fun holiday card to share that features some of my new favorites. Let's get into it, shall we?

The Swirl Background stencil set is one I fell in love with right away. It reminded me of the patterned paper in one of Pinkfresh's scrapbook collections last year, and I love how it provides the opportunity to incorporate a lot of different colors. I went with a modern, slightly unconventional holiday palette of inks in Mermaid Cove, Ocean Breeze, Bubble Gum and Candy Apple, and once finished, I trimmed that background panel down to 3.5" x 4.75".

Moving along, I foiled a set of the new Ornaments in shiny silver foil, used the coordinating layering stencil set to color each one, and then grabbed the Ornaments die to cut them all out. I love that the die is one piece, because I don't know about you, but I've got a LOT of holiday cards to make and I appreciate any time savings I can get!

While my foiling machine was still hot, I created a large bold Joy sentiment, using Spellbinders Speckled Prism foil and a deep teal shade of cardstock to create some strong contrast against the Swirl Background layer. Then, to incorporate an extra ornament, I swapped out the 'O' in Joy for one of my favorites in the set. For dimension, I decided to add a band of vellum around the middle of the background panel, popping the foreground elements forward a bit with some foam tape. And, because I like my cards to have lots of dimension, I mounted the whole thing on my A2 card base with a little more.

This card turned out very shiny and sparkly, and that's the way the holidays should be, right?! The Swirl Background Stencil has so many color combination possibilities, and I can't wait to play with it a bit more in my upcoming holiday cards. I hope you enjoyed checking it out this project, and that you're feeling inspired to create with the latest release. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Love the glitter drops… I’ve just begun using these in my crafting and these colors are too die for! I’m eyeing a stamp press… as we age, it gets a little tougher to stamp evenly and this looks like a great tool to help out! Thanks for the innovation!

The glitter gems are absolutely beautiful. I love your color selection. And I can’t wait for my stamping tool to come.
