A Festive Shaker Card Full of Sparkle & Shine | Kathleen Schmelz

Hi everyone! It’s Kathleen here, and today I’m sharing my first card with the gorgeous new Season of Wonder release! This card brings together two of my absolute favorites from the release: the Starlit Strands press plate (and yes, you can expect to see me use this one a lot!) and the Merry Mistletoe bow.

I paired them with the wreath from the gold-foiled Seasonal Sprigs washi tape for a little extra shine, and of course, I couldn’t resist adding some more hot foiling to the background.

And because apparently there’s no such thing as too much sparkle & shine, I turned the wreath into a shaker element, too! 😄

Let's take a look at how you can recreate this card:

1. Card Base & Panel:
   1. (1) A2 top or side-folding from light pink cardstock (or: use white cardstock and ink blend around the edges with Ballet Slipper)
      
   2. (2) A2 panels from white cardstock
      
2. Starlit Strands Background: 
   1. Hot foil the Starlit Strands press plate in gold on one A2 panel.
   2. Trim off approx. 1/8" on all sides and adhere centered onto the card front using foam adhesive.
3. Wreath Shaker:
   1. Adhere the Seasonal Sprigs washi tape to a piece of white cardstock & die cut.
   2. Die cut the wreath 4 more times from white cardstock & adhere the die cuts together to create a stacked wreath.
   3. Die cut a circle approx. 2 1/4" in diameter from white cardstock & another from acetate. Adhere the white circle to the back of the stacked wreath.
      
   4. Fill the “well” with white or iridescent glitter. Adhere the acetate circle on top using liquid adhesive. Then adhere the washi wreath to the acetate, lining up the edges with the stacked wreath underneath.
      
   5. Adhere the finished wreath shaker to the card front, slightly towards the top.
4. Bow: 
   1. Use the Merry Mistletoe stencils to ink blend the bow on the other A2 panel with Berrylicious and Mulberry Blush.
   2. Die cut the bow & stack with (1) blank die cut for added sturdiness.
      Optional: Add liquid glitter accents to select areas of the bow.
      
   3. Adhere the bow to the top of the wreath.
5. Sentiment:
   1. Stamp a sentiment from the Seasonal Sprigs stamp in Detail Black on white cardstock.
   2. Die cut & stack with (2) blank pieces, then adhere centered onto the wreath.

And that’s it! I love how all the different elements come together on this card, and the little bit of sparkle inside the shaker wreath makes it even more fun. The Season of Wonder release has so many gorgeous details to play with, and I’m far from being done with these products!
