Rainbow Floral Washi Pair | Dilay Nacar

Rainbow Floral Washi Pair | Dilay Nacar

Hello and welcome, Pinkfresh Studio friends! Dee here today, and I am excited to be sharing two cards that feature the beautiful new Rainbow Floral Washi and coordinating die from the March release! Both cards combine washi with some of our favorite essential and stand-alone dies for layered and elegant designs. Let’s get started!

I like to begin by die-cutting all of the washi tape. For these cards, I die cut two sets, saving the largest piece (rainbow wreath) for a future project. I then adhered the washi onto medium-weight cardstock, lined up the coordinating die, and ran it through my die cutter. Easy peasy!

For the first card, I cut the Geo Tiles die, then cut it in half (at an angle) and adhered it onto an A2-sized card panel. Next, I cut the Curvy Foliage leaves and adhered them above the solid portion of the card base. I assembled the washi and adhered it to the center, overlapped, with thin foam adhesive.

For the sentiment, I cut ‘hello’ from the Scripted Greetings die set twice in white and once in gold, then stacked and adhered them together. To finish, I adhered the sentiment to the bottom corner and mounted the finished card onto a top-folding card base.

For the second card, I began by dry embossing the Simply Diamonds die, then adhered it onto an A2-sized card panel. To create a focal point for the sentiment, I cut the Stitched Scallop Square and adhered it to the panel with foam tape. I wanted to add more texture, so I cut the Stitched Scallop Square twice more and adhered them directly onto the embossed background using liquid glue. Next, I assembled the washi florals and adhered them to the panel with thin foam adhesive, trimming off any overhang. To fill in a few of the gaps, I cut the same Curvy Foliage leaves and tucked them in behind the florals. For the sentiment, I foiled Love You from the Brushed Sentiments hot foil set, cut it with the coordinating die, and adhered it with foam tape to the center of the scalloped square. To finish, I mounted the finished card onto a top-folding card base.

Although I love the look and ease of using washi, similar cards can be created with customized color combinations (the possibilities are endless!) using the Floral Rainbow Washi stamp set and coordinating stencils. I hope you enjoyed learning more about my cards today and are inspired by them!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
