Notecards with Beautiful Peony Florals | Anne Fiene

Hi everyone! I've got some notecard-sized cards, 3 1/2 X 4 7/8 in. to share today. I needed some quick birthday cards to give away, so I went through my stash and found a small pile of previously made peony floral die-cuts to use for some fast results. I had used Pinkfresh Studio's new Peony Perfection stamp, stencil, and die for an earlier project and ended up with more floral die-cut pieces than I needed and stored them away. I'll use these extra die-cuts to make a few notecard-sized cards to gift to family.

Let's start with the florals, then move on to the backgrounds and cardbases.

1. I lightly inked a panel of white cardstock with PFS's Sparkling Rose because I wanted to place these florals over a pink background.
2. Then I put the two floral stamps into my MISTI and lightly stamped the images onto two panels of cardstock, one pink and the other ivory.
3. I used the accompanying stencil set to color them in, using Ballet Slipper and the Rose Garden collection for the blooms and green inks from the Garden Stroll and the Green Gables collections. All my color choices will be linked below.
4. I put the two panels back into my stamping platform and gold heat embossed over the inked-in images. 
5. Then, I gold heat-embossed the floral images onto vellum and white cardstock as well, but I did not color those in.
6. Everything was die-cut out with the Peony Perfection die set and put aside.

For the backgrounds:

1. I started with three paper panels, two white and one ivory. All were cut to 3 1/2 X 4 7/8 inches. 
2. I used press plates to dry emboss images on all three panels: PFS's Interlaced Diamonds, Dotted Petals, and Diagonal Plaid.
3. Then, I brushed Ballet Slipper, Cherry Blossom, and Peony inks over the two white panels.
4. I stuck them down to notecard-sized card bases using double-sided tape and glue and rounded the corners using a Corner Chomper.
5. Then, I used a die from the Fancy Edgers set to make strips of lacey paper. I backed two pieces together and glued another thin strip of cardstock over them in the middle to keep them together and cover the seam.
6. Then, I spent some time arranging and rearranging the lacey strips and the floral bouquets until I was happy. I adhered them to the card bases using foam tape and glue.
7. I acquired my sentiments from the Sending Love, Farm Fresh, and Heart of Gold stamp and die sets. 
8. After I applied the red, green, and gold bling (linked below), I was done!

I struggled slightly with the sentiments because the notecards looked perfectly fine without them. In the end, I decided to include them. 

The Peony Perfection stamp set features gorgeous peony flowers. Bunch them up for a bouquet, or use one for an elegant statement.
