Making Merry

Welcome! It's Kelly here today sharing a fun Christmas design using a few of my favorites from the latest release! I had so much fun coloring this beautiful Winterberry Background on one of my cards for the release and I've been dying to try it again! This time I chose to heat emboss it in silver and use cool tones for the leaves with a pop of red for the berries!
I used colored pencils to color the images after it was heat embossed. I die cut the panel using the Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to give it the extra detail around the edge. I also die cut the MERRY letters (two of each letter) using both the Lea Uppercase and Lowercase alphabet dies. I glued them together with liquid glue and added them to the oval image from the new Merry and Bright Frame set.
I die cut the BEAUTIFUL new Layered Snowflakes die set out of silver specialty cardstock to accent the oval frame. I added a few jewels to the centers of the snowflakes for added sparkle, shine and detail (and to hide the small foam square).
I added a heat embossed sentiment at the bottom using one of the fun new sentiments from the Our Home to Yours stamp set. I just love the mix of fonts to give this design some added interest!
I toyed around with different colors for the card base; red, teal, white, grey, but in the end opted to use the same grey as the embossed panel for a subdued look. It's amazing how the look of your card can drastically change just by adding a different color border or frame. I thoroughly enjoyed coloring this beautiful background...it is so therapeutic for me! Thanks for joining me today!

So pretty and elegant! The pencil crayons with the heat embossed and the touch of vellum with those bold letters is such a stunning combination!
