Happy Monday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you a birthday inspiration card made with a “Fun Fold & Pocket” look using one of the dies included in Essentials: Classic Edgers Die Set to create the detailed edges for the card front. Dreamy Florals Hot Foil, Dreamy Florals Stencil, and Dreamy Florals Die to add a floral look to the card. Besides that, I used Happy Birthday Hot Foil and Die for the hidden note card plus, Geo Tiles Hot Foil to add texture to the inner fold. Lastly, one of the foiled sentiments from Foiled Sentiments 3 and PFS- Ink Pads to add pops of color to the flowers and leaves. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, to create this fun fold birthday card, I went ahead to trim it down, right in the middle, one 8.5 x 11.0-inch white cardstock sheet, to create two A2 size side folding white card bases. Next, I placed one of the cardstock pieces to the side, and then I placed the second one with the longer side to the right over the scoreboard tool to trace over it a scoring line at 5-1/2 inches. Once, I had that step completed, I went ahead to use one of the dies included in Essentials: Classic Edgers Die Set to die-cut the bottom edge from the front flap of the card.

Thus, after adding the die-cutting and decorative edge to the front flap, I went ahead to place the first card base to the side, and then I continued to add the same die-cutting decorative edge to another two A2 size white card panels because I wanted to create layers once I got them all stacked over the card front flap. So, as you can see in the image above, after getting the die-cutting finished off, I proceeded to layer the card panels leaving a little space in between them, and then, I used the paper trimmer to cut out the excess pieces from the top part of the card to even all layers up.

That being said, after adding all decorative layers to the card’s front flap, I went ahead to trim down 1/16 of an inch from one side of the other card base, and then I got the backing of it adhered to the inside part of the other card base, creating that way a regular tri-fold card base.

So, to create the inside pocket, I went ahead to use the paper trimmer once again to trim down part of the second card flap leaving it at 2-1/2 inches in height. Right after that, I had completed that step, I proceeded to add liquid glue to each side of the smaller card flap to get them glued, creating that way the small inner pocket on the card.

Because I created an inner pocket inside the card, I then decided to create a hidden note card. The tri-fold design itself adds up a pretty look to the card but the inner pocket can be useful to hold a gift card, money, embellishments, small die-cutting pieces, or just a note as I’m doing for today’s example.

That said, to create the smaller note card I went ahead to trim down a piece of white cardstock to H 7.0 X 4-3/4 inches. Then, I got it folded in half to end up having a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 note card.

Followed by that, I used Happy Birthday Hot Foil and Die to add a quick but simple embellishing step to the front part of the note card. I didn’t add much to keep it simple as I wanted to add a little extra dimension to the main card front, and the front part of the inner pocket.

Moving on, to add a little embellishment to the inner pocket, I add texture to a piece of white cardstock using Geo Tiles Hot Foil, and then I got the backing of the textured cardstock pieces adhered to the front part of the inner pocket. By the way, the actual measurements for that cardstock were 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 and you can see in the image above how it looked once adhered to the inner pocket. Also, you can see how the smaller note card looks inside of the card’s pocket.

Lastly, to finish the card off, I went ahead to get the front part embellished by adding a floral look and a smaller sentiment. So, to add a floral look I used the following coordinating products; Dreamy Florals Hot Foil, Dreamy Florals Stencil, and Dreamy Florals Die. Also, the following ink hues for the pops of colors; Coral Reef Ink, Passion Fruit Ink, Sunshine Ink, Marigold Ink, Grassy Knoll Ink, Olive Ink, Ocean Breeze Ink, and Aquamarine Ink. Then, to create the floral cluster, I used a combination of liquid glue and craft foam adhesive to add a little bit of dimension, and finally one of the foiled sentiments from Foiled Sentiments 3.
