Happy Friday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you an extra-dimensional fun fold inspiration card made with a glimmering “Floral & Butterflies” look using Wonderful in Every Way Hot Foil, Wonderful in Every Way Stencil, and Wonderful in Every Way Die to add a floral look to the card. Besides that, I used Stained Glass Die to add texture to the pop-up pillars of the card and inner background. Also, the Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate and Small Butterflies Stamp Set to add the butterfly touch, and last but not least, PFS- Ink Pads and a few ink blending brushes to add pops of color to the flowers and leaves. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I went ahead to do the hot foil stamping step for the floral cluster over a large piece of white cardstock, so to do that, I went ahead to use the hot foil plate included in Wonderful in Every Way Hot Foil, and then I also used the Glimmer Hot Foil System along with the die cut machine plus, a large piece of the Gold Satin roll foil included in the Glimmer Hot Foil 4 Rolls - Satin Metallics Variety Pack.

Thus, after completing the hot foil stamping for the floral cluster, I set it aside, and then I continued with the hot foil stamping for the butterflies. As for the butterflies, I used the hot foil plate included in the Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate, a large piece of translucent vellum, and the same foil hue that I used for the floral cluster.

That being said, after getting the hot foil stamping done for the butterflies, I went ahead to set them aside. Meanwhile, I used some ink blending brushes, and each stencil included in the Wonderful in Every Way Stencil set to add Wonderful in Every Way Stencil set to add pops of colors to the flowers and leaves. As for the ink hues, I went ahead to use Marigold Ink, Clementine Ink, and Persimmon Ink for the flowers + Grassy Knoll Ink, Olive Ink, and Evergreen Ink for the leaves.

So, after getting the stenciling process done, I went ahead to set the cardstock piece aside. Meanwhile, I proceeded to create the fun fold card base. Thus, I placed an 8-1/2 x 11.0 inches cardstock sheet horizontally on the paper trimmer to get it trimmed down in half. Next, I placed one of the half parts of the cardstock sheet with the larger side horizontally over the scoreboard to get a few scoring lines traced over it using a Teflon bone folder. As for the scoring lines, I went ahead to get them traced at 1/4, 1.0, 1-3/4, 2-1/2, 6.0, 6-3/4, 7-1/2, and 8-1/4 inches marks.

Moving on, after getting the scoring lines traced over the cardstock sheet, I went ahead to fold each of them inwards from left to right on the left side and inwards from right to left on the right side. Next, I used the side of the Teflon folder to reinforce each fold, and once I had that done, I went ahead to flatten the 1/4 fold and the next fold from the left side of the cardstock and then I added 1/8 size double-sided adhesive to the 1/4 fold. Thereafter, I proceeded to peel off the backing of the double-sided adhesive and with my other hand, I grabbed the right side of the card base to get it adhered to the fold. Once I got that done, I ended up creating the first pop-up pillar effect for the card.

That said, in the same way as I did for the left side, I went ahead to repeat the same step for the right side. You can see in the image above how both pop-up pillars look once they have adhered to the center part of the fun fold card base.

Followed by that, I went ahead to add texture to the front parts of the pop-up pillars and the inner background of the fun fold card base. So to do that, I used a large piece of white cardstock along with the Stained Glass Die to die cut the detailed card background. Next, after getting the die-cutting done for the card background, I went ahead to use the paper trimmer to trim down 3/4 of an inch from the left side and 3/4 of an inch from the right side making sure that I got the pretty edges on the corresponding side. That said, I got those smaller pieces glued down with glue to the front parts of the pop-up pillars.

Here in the image above, you can see a closer look at how they look once I got them glued down. Also, with the leftover centerpiece, I went ahead to get trimmed down a small piece from the left and a small piece from the right to have a 1-7/8 inch piece. And then, I got the backing of it glued down to the center part of the card background.

Once, I’ve got finished adding the texture to the card base, I proceeded to get it embellished, so to do that, I went ahead to trim down a piece of acetate to W 3-1/2 x H 1.0 inches, and then I got it glued down to the center part of the card base leaving 1-1/2 inches space from bottom to top. This step is to give more stability to the fun fold effect and to hold up the larger part of the floral cluster.

Lastly, I used the coordinating dies to cut out the butterflies and the floral cluster, too. Then, I added dimension to the floral cluster by layering it underneath more plain white die-cutting pieces, and then I got it glued down to the card, but making sure I didn’t have anything hang it outside the right edge because I will flatten the card to the right side to get it inside of an A2 size envelope. I would like to mention that to get the floral cluster glued down to the card base, I went ahead to add glue to the back side of the large flower, the small flower, and the center part of the leaves that are together in the upper right side of the card.

Finally, I went ahead to add the butterfly touch by getting four butterflies glued down as shown in the image above. And to add even more shine, I also went ahead to get some of the Jewels: Peach Fuzz glued down here and there using liquid glue and a jewels picker. Then, to finish the card off, I used one of the card’s sentiments from the stamp set to get it stamped with embossing ink over a small piece of white cardstock and heat embossing with gold embossing powder. As you can see, I also used its coordinating die not only to get it cut out from the cardstock but to add dimension as well.
