Foiled Daisy Wreath Thank You Card | Angela Simpson

Foiled Daisy Wreath Thank You Card | Angela Simpson

Hi friends! It's Angela here, back with another card project featuring a few gorgeous goodies from the latest Pinkfresh Studio release. One of my favorite things to do when making cards is to mix new product with old. New stamps and dies come fast in this crafty world we play in, but those oldie-but-goodies deserve more time to shine, don't you think?

When I saw the new Floral Backdrop Cover Plate die, I was instantly reminded of the Daisy Wreath suite. The hot foil plate was one of the very first in my stash, and the petals are similar to those in the Floral Backdrop Cover Plate. To get started on my project, I foiled the Daisy Wreath in shiny gold foil, then colored it in with the layering stencils. I was in the mood for a fairly traditional color palette, so I went with Pinkfresh inks in Coral Reef, Passion Fruit, Olive and Evergreen.

Once the stenciling was complete, I cut out the wreath with the coordinating Daisy Wreath die. I wanted to add some dimension to my card design rather than just layering the wreath over the Floral Backdrop background, so I die cut a bunch of leaves using the Leafy Branch die. These are a little smaller in size than some of the other Pinkfresh die sets, and similar to the size and shape of the leaves in the wreath. Once I'd fiddled around with the arrangement for a while, I used low-tack tape to temporarily hold everything together from the front. I carefully flipped it all over, applied liquid adhesive, then mounted the whole piece on my Floral Backdrop panel.

For the sentiment, I couldn't resist going for one from the new Foiled Sentiments pack. If you like having lots of foiled and die cut greetings on hand, I highly recommend getting yourself a pack (or six) of these! There are a wide variety of words to choose from, and I thought the size of this one worked perfectly with the wreath. To finish the card, I added a few of the new Clear Iridescent Drops. Normally I'd choose gold embellishments on a gold-foiled card, but these are too pretty to resist!

And there you have it! A little new-meets-old with a whole lot of shine. I hope you've enjoyed checking out this project, and thank you so much as always for stopping by. Until next time, happy crafting! - Angela
