Floral Trio | TaeEun Yoo
Hello crafty friends! Hope you’re having a lovely week! It’s TaeEun here today with a slimline floral card. I’m inspired by the current monthly challenge with the theme Stripes/Plaid. I added a striped background and used the soft colors of the Challenge color palette!
To start I gold heat embossed the Floral Trio image and stenciled it using the coordinating layering stencil set. The flowers were stenciled in two tones; orange and pink. For the pink part I used Ballet Slipper and Sparkling Rose and for the orange part Apricot and Clementine. The small flowers were stenciled in Sunshine and the leaves in Mint and Meadow.
After stenciling I cut it using the coordinating die and set it aside.
To create the subtle stripy background I first cut a Mixed Media paper in slimline size and watercolored it in pink, orange and yellow. After the panel was dry I placed the Slim Diagonal Stripe stencil and applied an embossing ink on it. I heat embossed the stripes in iridescent sparkle embossing powder and cut the panel using the Slim Ornate Banner die.
I foam mounted the background panel on a white slimline cardbase. The Floral Trio was then foam mounted on the background with a few golden Leafy Branches as shown in the picture.
The sentiment is from the Wonderful Sentiments set. I used the gold negative foil and the Solid Hot Foil plate to hot foil my sentiment. I added more golden accents by scattering a few gold metallic pearls on the card and my card was done!
I hope I was able to inspire you to play along at the February 2023 challenge! One cardmaking entry and one memory-keeping entry will receive a $50 gift card to the Pinkfresh Studio Store! The two winners will be randomly selected based on these two categories.
