Hey there friends! Angela here, back with a card featuring one of my favorite products from Pinkfresh's latest release. Have you had a chance to check all the new goodies out yet?

As a lover of geometric shapes and backgrounds, the new Stained Glass suite stole my heart immediately. It includes a hot foil plate, layering stencil and die, all of which can be used independently or in combination with each other. For today's card I decided to just use the hot foil plate to create a simple yet elegant background, layered behind some colorful floral elements and a bold sentiment.

Hot foiling was up first, so I placed the Stained Glass Hot Foil Plate along with shiny gold foil, my white cardstock panel and shims on my foiling machine, waited for the timer, then ran it all through my die cutting machine to create the print. Voila - background complete!

While my machine was hot, I also foiled several of the flowers from the Brighter Days Hot Foil Plate - one of my all-time favorite Pinkfresh products. Using the Brighter Days layering stencils and Pinkfresh inks in Fresh Pear, Coral Reef, Passion Fruit and Candy Violet, I filled in the color with ink blending brushes and cut everything out with the coordinating die. There were several stenciled blooms that I didn't use on this card, but those are tucked away for another project (and future me is grateful for it!)

I also had some leftover foil after creating those Brighter Days flowers, so I decided to use Pinkfresh's Solid Plate to reverse-foil a set of the images. This is how I created the gold leaves you see on the card. Note that when using the solid plate, you'll likely want to let it heat up on your foiling platform longer than other hot foil plates. I've found that I get a much better, more even impression this way. 

A foiled sentiment was a consideration, but the design was already pretty high on the shine factor. (Don't get me wrong, I love shiny foil, but I didn't want to overdo it!) Instead, I went with a short and sweet 'hi' using the letters from Heather's Lower Case and Lea's Ornate Lower Case alphabet dies. After playing with the flower arrangement and sentiment for a while, I used some low-tack tape to secure the pieces in place temporarily while I applied foam tape to the back, then mounted it all in the lower third of the stained glass background panel. With that adhered to a white A2 card base, the card was complete!
