Pop Out: Diagonal Stripes Birthday Card

Pop Out: Diagonal Stripes Birthday Card

13 Jan 2022 1 comment

Hi friends, Angelica Here. I'm so excited to be rejoining the Pinkfresh Studio Design Team. I have made a simple birthday card for my first blog of the year. This layout can be used for all sorts of themes. Just change the colors and letters out, and you have endless possibilities. I love how the PFS Pop Out Background Stamps give you the option to make colorful backgrounds.

If you’re not familiar with the Pop Out Diagonal Stripes stamp, each stripe can be “popped out” of the stamp. To make this a quick background to stamp, I stamped three stripes at a time. Starting at the top, I kept the top three stripes in the large red rubber rectangle, and took the rest of the stripes out. I stamped the stripes with Passion Fruit ink, then added the next three stripes. Once I had them in place, I took out the first three stripes (which I used as a guide to position the next three stripes), and stamped them with Apricot ink. I repeated the process until I finish the panel, using the following inks: Passion Fruit, Apricot, Fresh Pear, Ocean Breeze, Sparkling Rose, and Soft Lilac. I die-cut the panel with Essentials: Stitched Rectangle die to finish the background.

For the sentiment, I used letters from Heather Uppercase Die Set. I added double-sided adhesive to the back of teal card stock, then die-cut it with the letters Y and A. These dies not only die-cut the letters, they also die-cut a thin outline. I attached the letters and outlines to the card panel, then glued on white die-cut letters. I added two to each letter, giving the word some dimension. I finished the card with a white heat-embossed sentiment from Every Good Thing stamp set, and a few Bubblegum Jewels.

I love how cheerful this card is. The rainbow of colors is a perfect background for this simple birthday card.

That’s all that I have for today. I hope I was able to pass on some creative ideas to you. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello Angelica,

Congratulations on joining the team. I love your card. It’s simple but the die cuts were the perfect way to finish it up and tie it all together.

Sincerely,

Amanda
