Cover Plate Magic: Transforming Your Projects with Pinkfresh Studio | Anne Fiene

Hi guys! I'm on the Pinkfresh blog today with a card that I made with the Delicate Rosebuds hot foil plate, stencil set and die. I had fun with a sweet color palette of mint and coral, along with the Floral Grid coverplate die for a modern eyelet lace background.

This time, I started with the backing panel, so let's begin there. I grabbed a panel of white heavyweight cardstock and Mint and Ocean Breeze and blended one after the other onto the paper. I used my blending brushes to apply the colors randomly, leaving some areas thin with color to give it a dreamy look. Then I smooshed some Aquamarine onto my glass mat with water, so I could splatter just where I thought the die-cut rosebuds would go.

Then I set that panel aside and got to work on the rosebuds. I used the Delicate Rosebuds hot foil plate with a pastel green foil included in the Satin Pastels Variety Pack on white cardstock (Neenah Classic Crest, 110 lb.) Then I colored it using the Delicate Rosebuds stencil set, with Mint, Meadow, and a very light hand with Emerald City for the leaves and Ballet SlipperCoral Reef, and Passion Fruit for the rosebuds.

After drying my background panel, I die-cut it using the Floral Grid coverplate die and adhered it to an ivory A2-sized card base. I die-cut out the colored rosebuds and glued another rosebud die-cut to it to strengthen it, then popped it up over my cardbase using two layers of foam tape. Because the leaves and background were so similar in color, I decided that the rosebud die cut would need it.

I used the new Basic Banners: Everyday Sentiments stamp set along with the Basic Banners Celebrate die for my sentiment. I colored the sentiment strip with Coral Reef to add more color to my card. I tucked some Glacier jewels under the rosebud die-cut to add glimmer and shine. Then I added an ivory twine bow, and I was done!

I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today! Thanks so much for coming by!
