Creating a Shaker Wreath with Leaves | Jody Morrow

Creating unique holiday cards is all about finding fresh ways to use your supplies, and today I’m excited to share a festive design that highlights just that. Using a leaf die from the Timeless Tidings set, I transformed individual leaves into a full, dimensional wreath with a sparkling shaker center, layered textures, and elegant finishing touches that make this card both joyful and refined.

How to recreate this card:

1. Hot foil the sentiment in matte silver.
2. Using the stencil from Tied with Cheer, add color using the coordinating stencils: 
   • Section 1: Ballet Slipper
   • Section 2: Passion Fruit
   • Section 3: Berrylicious
3. Die cut the bow and stack with 2-3 blank die cuts.
4. Die cut Timless Tidings 6 times from white cardstock. Ink blend 6 identical large leaves, and 3 of the smallest leaves, and ink blend in an ombre fashion using Sage, Eucalyptus, and Lush Forest. Ink blend the berries using Ballet Slipper, Passion Fruit, and Berrylicious.
5. Cut and fold an A2 top-folding card base from white cardstock
6. Dry emboss the Sparkling Evergreen coverplate die on an A2 panel using a rubber embossing mat with the Platinum 6; ink blend the entire panel with Ballet Slipper; adhere to the card base.
7. Arrange the large leaves in a circle and curl up the tips of the leaves to add dimension. Line them up precisely to end up with a perfect circle in the center. 
8. Turn the wreath over and adhere a piece of acetate to the backside. Add foam tape around the circle, not leaving any gaps. Remove the adhesive backer. Add sequins inside the foam tape. Adhere a scrap piece of cardstock (or a circle) to seal your shaker window. Adhere bow and Clear Drops to the front of the wreath. Adhere to the card with foam tape. 
9. Cut a small strip of cardstock to 5/8" x 4 1/4". Light ink blend in an ombre fashion, left to right, using Sage; adhere to card.
10. Adhere the sentiment, 3 leaves, and 3 small berries, to the panel with liquid glue. 
11. Shake, shake, shake!
