Combining Alphabet Dies with Sentiments to Create Custom Messages | Rachel Alvarado

Hello Pinkfresh Studio friends! It's Rachel here with a floral card that illustrates a fun way to use alphabet dies along with sentiment stamps and floral images.

I have always found the use of alphabet dies to be a beautiful way to get your message across to your recipient as well as enhance cards by either being the focal point or by complimenting other images that you may use.

How to recreate this card:

1.  Stamp your images from the Breezy Blossoms Stamp with Detail Black Ink onto a sheet of white card stock (I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb)

2.  Use the coordinating Breezy Blossom Stencils and Pinkfresh Blending Brushes to blend color onto your images.

3.  Use the following Pinkfresh Studio ink colors to achieve the same look as my card or use whatever colors you desire to get a different look.

• Stencil 1: Cherry Blossom
• Stencil 2: Mulberry Blush
• Stencil 3: Peony & Gathered Twigs 
• Stencil 4: Mulberry Blush
• Stencil 5: Mint
• Stencil 6: Meadow

4.  Die cut your florals using the coordinating Breezy Blossoms Die Set and set aside.

5.  Trim a piece of white card stock to 4.25" x 5.5" for your card base.  (You can later layer this onto whatever folding A2-sized card base you want.)  Run this piece through your die cutting machine with the Charming Stitched Florals Coverplate Die for some added interest and texture.

5.  Layer your base piece with a light green piece of card stock cut to 3.75" x 5"

6.  Trim another piece of white card stock to 3.5" x 4.75" and lightly blend with Mint Ink starting at the lower left corner and moving toward the top right corner, eventually fading back to white.

7.  Run this ink-blended piece through your die cutting machine using the Charming Stitched Florals Coverplate Die again.

8.  Die cut a set of 3 rectangular frames for added dimension using the two non-stitched dies from the Essentials: Stitched Rectangles Die Set.  Using liquid adhesive, layer the 3 frames on top of each other and place on top of the ink-blended piece.  Add this entire panel to your card front.

7.  Adhere florals around the inside of the frame with 3D foam adhesive tape.

8.  Die cut the word "hugs" from dark green card stock 3x's using the Jody Lowercase Alpha Die Set and layer on top of each other with more liquid adhesive.  When dry, adhere to your card front.

9.  Heat emboss the word "SENDING" from the Basic Sentiments Stamp Set onto black card stock with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder and trim with a paper trimmer.  Finish your card by adding this sentiment above the word "hugs" with adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!  I adore the Jody Lowercase Alpha Die Set (there is an uppercase set too!) as well as the florals and coverplate die that I used on my project today.  As always, you can easily change up the color scheme and/or sentiment to suit an entirely different occasion!
